Gwyn, that is beautiful! You do such beautiful work. Thank you for doing this for a future teacher. :-) Alu can't help but feel loved with her special quilt from all her quilter friends. :-)
If you decide to pay to have it quilted, let me know and I will pitch in. I think it will be loved and appreciated no matter how it is finished. |
Oh MY the quilt is just lovely! She will be so happy to have such a qulit to be wrapped in love and good wishes!
How wonderful of yo to do this for her! Blessings.

How are things going on the quilt? Are you set with everything?
|
The quilt top is complete except for the last 6" boarder. I need to go to the store and get the fabric for this. I don't want to piece the last round because it would look nicer if I didn't.

Gwyn, you are so sweet for doing this for Alu, and making it possible for us all to have a part in it. Thank you.
|
You are welcome. It really hasn't been that hard. You guys made all those little squares. I only had to make 12 to finish the design...Then I received 12 more in the mail. I'll work them into the back so have no worries.

I can't wait to see it finished. I bet it is going to be incredible.
|
You ROCK! How much fabric will you need to purchase? I can help. :-)
|
The quilt is 90" x 105". For the back I will need 8 yards. For the last boarder I will need 3 yards. I just don't want to distract from the wonderful blocks everyone made by piecing the boarder. I will also purchase some fabric for the binding. I think it will only take 1.5 yards. Does this sound about right? I've never done a quilt this big.

Wow. That is a lot bigger than what I imagined. How many signature blocks did this take?
