Quilting in the New Year - January 2012
 

Do you like receiving a mystery project in the mail - then it's time to sign up for the next month of Quilting in the New Year Swap - This is a swap especially designed to swap a variety of completed projects. These projects can be anything from a totebag, table topper, wall hanging, sweatshirt, sewingcase, set of blocks or pin cushion to whatever you choose to make. It's a swap designed to get to know your partner, share ideas - then make her something she might like.

This is a swap that would enable you to be paired up with another ‘Quilting Pal’ and swap a quilted item that each has made. It can be either machine or hand quilted. The Quilting Pals would know who each other is and can chat about their projects throughout the whole month. Projects swapped do not need to be the same item - so you can make whatever you make best. This would just be for January 2012. You would be signing up for one month at a time.

Beginner quilters as well as experienced quilters are invited to join. Every attempt will be made to match you up with a quilter who is at the same level of experience. (If an experienced quilter would like to be matched with a beginner and to be a mentor, please let me know.)

This form will be given to your swap partners. Partners may choose to exchange additional information about such things as color preferences, specific type of project, etc. Partners are reminded that this is a swap. Please avoid issuing too many specifications as though you were placing an order with a commercial business. The elements of mystery and surprise are at least half the fun.


The cost limit on this is to be $15 (USA) excluding postage.

Sign up will close December 30, 2011. The names will be paired up by January 1, 2012. Partners are responsible for keeping in touch during the month to keep each other updated on the progress of the project. Anyone not completing and sending projects - will be given a poor swap rating and not be able to participate in this swap in the future,

Neither project will be sent out/exchanged until both are done. Partners will agree on a specific date on which each will put their package into the mail. Unless otherwise agreed by both partners, the projects should all be done and in the mail by January 31, 2012. You must notify coordinator when all items have been shipped and received so records can be updated.

I would also like to join in Feb. The first week of Jan is a write off for me, so I wouldn't be able to get anything ready until Feb if that is ok.

Looks like January is going to be a small cozy group, but February is going to be a Party! Can't wait.

I've gotten to much going for January, I need to use that month to catch up on everything that Christmas put me behind on. But you will see me again in Febuary...

Got my wall hanging in the mail from Christina in Tennessee today. Hers has been mailed as well. She is going to post pictures of both when hers arrives. I am going to wait for her to help keep the surprise good till she does get it. I have hung mine on the main wall at the office for everyone to enjoy for a week or two before I take it home to hang in my sewing room. This is a fun swap and I am signed up for February. It is fun getting a surprise in the mail, isn't it? !!!! Best wishes to all involved. Oh, I almost forgot to mention that when my package arrive it had some "extras" in there. Some patterns and a bucket of candy!!!! Life don't get any better!!

Couldn't resist sending it with the quilt after making it into a pillow. I am quite proud of this one. Thanks for looking

The pin cushion is not attached to the tote. I just layed it on there for the picture.

I really like turtles so my swap partner made me a tote with this gorgeous sea turtle fabric. It has tons of pockets. Great for taking quilty stuff along. Thanks luvmyash!

Thank you for posting the pics I was about to post them and something told me to look and see if you did and you beat me to it. I just love what you made me and I am so glad that I got you as a swap partner. My husband has taken the pillow as his and he said that he will let me keep the wall hanging. Oh how nice of him huh? LOL God Bless everyone in this swap. I just LOVE this SWAP!!!! This one and the doll quilt swap are the only ones that I will be besides the simple ones like the boomerang ones etc. Thanks ladies :)
