No rush Lori. There is still plenty of time for the first mailing on our list.

I'm still waiting for my fabrics, but my blocks are already sewn and finished in my mind lol. I have been planing them and I'm happy with what I *see*.

Karen 01-10-2011 07:24 PM

Hi all! How are your blocks/rows coming along? Mine is still on paper and I really have to get busy and get them finished!

Thank you klarina! I hope we start seeing more soon, too.

Karen 01-11-2011 04:56 PM

I am excited to share with all of you a website I intend to use when this swap is finished, it mixbook.com. A friend used them to make a recipe/photo book for her Mother at Christmas and they did an excellent job, cost her $15.00. I am going to send all the photos and journal and have it made into a memory book! :D think it will be awesome to have that type of keepsake.

Sweetness 01-11-2011 05:18 PM

Oh man...I've missed all the good stuff. Keith's gone for the evening, so I have the house & computer to myself. Let me make some grub, feed the critters, and I'll be back on lickity split to annoy ya'll :)

I'm sure everyone's missed me *cough* j/k

Karen 01-11-2011 05:35 PM

Glad you got a chance to drop in and visit a bit. I have just the opposite...my husband is hardly ever home, he is a truck driver. I keep wishing he had more time to be home, but that is life.

What is that cough all about....you can't be getting sick on us now.

Sweetness 01-11-2011 06:42 PM

No, but I was sick. Okay, I'm going back to catch up on all I missed & will return to posting as I go thru. While I'm gone you can see things I've been up to in between being sick and working two jobs in case you missed them :)

Today = http://www.quiltingboard.com/t-89711-1.htm
Last Friday = http://www.quiltingboard.com/t-88545-1.htm
Last Saturday = finalized xmas gift http://www.quiltingboard.com/t-88556-1.htm

OOOOOoohhh that would be SOOOO cool!!! Holy cow, all those machines??? How'd you do that and dear god in heaven where do you keep them all?

Actually, I found 4 more that are neatly tucked away...I have them in every room in the house! Some are in the 2 storage buildings. I will work on the 1913 and get her ready for you.

Well I haven't taken it over yet, have to give her a call. I will keep you all informed, ok?!

Karen 01-11-2011 07:07 PM

Are you sick? That flu is a real doosey, I had for 3 weeks.

So glad you like the site...I am thinking of a calendar also. Would that be cool to have your quilts in a calendar for all to see? I think it is exciting! I tend to get excited over little things.

Well...here's what happens with me. He's off Thursday & Friday. We get to spend Friday together because I work (4) 12's. So that's kinda of our date night.

When he's not here on the weekend I miss him. But in the evenings and stuff I just want to decompress after dinner and play on here or with my sewing room and he plays video games. I think I just like knowing he's in the house and I can go say hi or get a hug or talk to someone.

Do ya'll talk on the phone or online while he's OTR?

Karen 01-11-2011 07:27 PM

OMG!!!! Your fabric is beautiful!!!!!!! and your cutting station is just super! You are a LUCKY LADY!!!!

yes we talk everyday, several times a day. it is a strange life though.

Sweetness 01-11-2011 07:54 PM

Why thank you ma'am. The first batch from last friday a lot of it will go in my blocks. Today's was just because it was $1/yd. If you see anything there you'd like I can run and get more and send it to you...I know where you live *mauahhaha* just don't know your taste.

i can imagine it's tough being apart...kinda like a long distance relationship then all of a sudden having to share your space after being alone. I take it he long hauls?

Sweetness 01-11-2011 08:02 PM

And my last post for tonight because I'm yawning and didn't sleep well last nite.

If the quilting fairies are with me, these are the blocks I plan to do for my row.

-celtic heart block (pattern I purchased from designer)
-celtic sunrise (from quilterscache)
-irish eyes (from azpatch)
-celtic knot block (from ehow)
-rocky road to dublin (from quilterscache)
*alternate if one of those frustrates me too much dbl irish chain

Nitey nite ladies!

Karen 01-11-2011 08:22 PM

Nite...you sleep well.

Okay...because Karen & I were talking about Celtic stuff today, I promised her I would share with her my very personal & inspirational tattoo. It's only 4 months old...but I love it. I apologize in advance if anyone has a certain stereotype associated with tattoos.

Designed & executed by Joe

LOL...I was like what? Yea...then I realized you were in TX. It was actually a guy in Pasadena. My bf went to HS with him at Sam Rayburn years ago & he owns a tat shop. Smokin Joe's Custom Tattoos. Real nice, real talented.

So where are you in TX? I'm a transplant but have been here for 14 yrs now (5 in Dallas/FtWorth, 9 in Houston)

That's awesome Karen! I LOVE the life in all the eyes (I'm assuming the human one is yours?). Since you never got it done/don't want it now...have you ever thought of painting it out instead?

So...pretty I love it!!!

No..I don't paint. Never thought of it. You can if you paint, just save the picture and print it out.

Yes, I was thinking she must be a redhead!
