OMG, what have I done? I just joined the fabric buying moratorium on here. I have to back away until I can get my stash sorted and stored so I know what's what though. I always buy extra when I buy for a project. I may need 1/2 a yard, but I'll usually buy 3-4.

well I didn't get much sewing done this weekend as I decided to cut a hole in the large desk to level my machine with the desk top. I probably would have had it completely done by now except for the cast my hubby felt he needed to do it for me so it would be done right, or his way of right. well is still isn't done yet! ugh....

Since he became mostly disable he doesn't do many of the 'manly' things he used to do all the time so letting him do this project for me, makes him feel useful and helpful. So... i just stand by watching and waiting and trying not to get impatient. But sometimes, a girl can just do things better than men!

Sorry nancia, wasn't your turn yet I guess. Maybe next time...

FABRIC MORITORIUM? egad its a diet isnt it? like a ..cleansing one that you make up in the blender all green and creepy looking and they say it tastes good but you know they are lying and you pinch your nose to take a gosh awful sip and realize ..only seven more days of this and you will be feeling great in no time. is it that kind of moritorium? oh heck no. sign yourself up cowgirl. I think about as much of that as I do... ok ok. I just think fabric is my joy. I personally do not own a monsterous pile. I have never had more than four big bins now two. I think maybe a dollar limit. walk in with only x amount of dollars and well it fits or it doesnt go home. I could run with that since i am broke all the time anyways lol. but nope that would be one of those like.. new years pledges you make that you simply can't do. What happens when you fnish the moritorium do you .. like hit the fabric store all the winners? Girls gone wild part 8!

regarding the dog: is it Goldendog55 who raises dogs for a living? she might have an answer for you regarding your dog eating the beds. if you PM me your regular email address I will ask my friend in dog rescue for 30 yrs her reply and you can talk with her. I just sent her your question she is pretty fast at replying so I will forward what she says to you when it comes. never ask too many questions. they are puppies. its like little kids .. a 2 yr old until the darned dog turns about 3 when you like them a whole lot more. I love puppies but you need a ton of attention for them or its your fault they turn out bad I am afraid. I am very adamant about that. If the dog is chewing on something you dont like my trainer had us put a small amount of alum powder on their gums rub the thing they ate on their gums rub that on their gums right immediatley after, put the item back on their gums. alum is a pickling spice. itsours up their gums super fast and the dont like it at all. we had to do that after our sixth hose was eaten through. hence the trainer. well worth the money we spent. and we spent a lot. personal trainer for six months with all my dogs. extremely well behaved no trouble dogs. so.. do some web search, call everyone within range and ask for help ask at the pet store, feed supply .. someone will find the right answer that works for all of you. until then.. count to ten. a whole lot.

Fabric buying moratorium, as in you'll only buy what you need to go with things in your stash to finish projects, thread, batting, interfacing, etc. No impulse fabric purchases. No buying double what you need for a project so you have extra for the stash on purpose.

"Here are the general guidelines:
* Pull fabric from your stash. No fabric purchases to start a new quilt top from Jan 1 until November 1
What you can buy (fabric wise) is this:
* Yardage for backing, border or binding, to tie together fabric from your stash to start a new project or complete a UFO
* Special Request fabric, eg: for little Susie's wedding quilt who's favorite color is puce, which for some reason you don't have in your stash..."

Honestly, if I just make it long enough to get what I already have organized, I'll be happy. It's semi organized, but it's all still in bags! I must find a way to get it where I can see it and use it before I start buying more!

i'm in the fabric buying moratorium, too, and i have fallen so far off the wagon, it's criminal! i tried not to buy starting in december. i got so nervous i ended up buying more than i normally would because it was going to all come to an end and all the faabric in my sewing room would evaporate and i'd have to use paper towels, toilet paper and coffee filters to quilt!! i was beyond panicking! i took all but 2 of the fabric stores off my email, totally unsubscribed. then someone on a thread would mention a store and a sale and i'd go look at it, and yeah, the prices were really good, so i would buy some fabric. i have to get over the feeling that i am responsible for every fabric store making it or not. the entire economy revolves around my personally putting all my money into it. it's just such a bad time and i do worry about the families that will lose their livelihood if we stop buying products. it is a churning mess! i'm sure my disability check is the source of income to pay off the national debt! i know...... i can't even walk in my fabric area. there is so much and it looks like it just exploded!! i think when i'm not in there it spawns more and more! arrrrgggghhh.!
