Does anyone in this group sew with a featherweight?

Yes I do sew on a featherweight sometimes. I tend to alternate sewing machines depending on what I am sewing. I have most of my box done and almost ready to mail. I am having so much fun.

I love my feather weight! I alternate between that and my rotary white

Hmmmm... I was inspired to try a notion based on another post on the QB and I decided to order two! One for my SS and one for me! This is just too much fun :)

You are so on top of this! I'm still working on one of my homemade gifts.... I can't get my machine to FMQ like I want it to and the machine I normally use for FMQ is currently MIA.

I received my secret santa's most wanted items today. I am so excited! I even stopped by See's.

i signed up for this SS swap and also on another website. that website is doing the 12 days of Xmas thing where each day you give that number of items (ie day 4=4 fqs, day 10 could be socks to cover ten little toes,etc) with stipulation that one gift must be at least one yard of material, one of candy or other treats and #12 gift must be handmade although it does not have to be 12 of something. I decided to do the same for this Swap and have finished numbers 1-3,5,6,7 and most of 12. the rest are either in the making or entail a little shopping trip. been having a lot of fun with both swaps while also making twin size quilts for Anastasia's 6 nephews and niece. 3 down-one top almost ready for frame and other two formulating in my mind.

Ok... newbie here 😊 received a package today, but not going to give any info about it so i dont wreck anybody’s surprise or give any info i shouldnt.

My problem... i am “assuming” this package came from my Secret Santa, but i cant be absolutely sure because i dont recognize the name or location on the return address. There is no “Santa” indication on the package at all.

I have not opened it as i am not thinking we are supposed to yet? I PM’d tlrnhi, but she might be unavailable at the moment and i am certainly accepting of that!

Now here’s a thought... what if it isnt from my Secret Santa??? If that is the case i will be clueless with another entirely different problem!

So, would it be wrong to ask here that my Secret Santa PM me? If it’s wrong, pretend i didnt ask! Honestly, i was just so shocked to receive a package already today (if actually from my SS) as i am still working on some items for my SS recipient! I guess i better get the “lead” out! 😊

I am working on some items for my SS this weekend. My SS live to the east of me. She will be getting rain this weekend in her neck of the woods.

Apparently I did not pay attention in geography, my SS lives just a little to the west of me. It’s too early in the morning. And I’m only halfway done with my first cup of coffee.

Please make sure that somewhere on the package, you put Secret Santa.
That way it's not opened by mistake.

In the past, it's been the 1st Saturday in December, which would be December 7th.
Does that sound good to everyone? Figure out a time, which would be good for all

The 7th of December is fine. The only problem is I don't get on until late around 10:30 cst.

December 7th is great with me although i may not be available until 7pm (CDT). Will that work? Or if someone chimes in late is it ok? I am assuming posts happen as they normally might - its just nicer to have “everybody together when Santa comes”!

We can look at opening at like 6pm EST? Or if another time is better, talk among yourselves and get a time. The time is usually EST.

I’ll go with any time - it rarely works for us in the UK haha so I will just open on the same day and post pics on the 8th :)

I work in the evening, so I will go with the majority and open late, when I get off work.

Just finished up a 'handmade' item... starting another and waiting for one last item to come via USPS.... then I'll be wrapping this box of SS presents up and mailing it off!

FYI - whatever date/time is determined for the group opening is fine with me..

I must have been very very good this year because I just received a special package from a special secret Santa. A long wait is in front of me... I think I can make it!

Good for you Bilben. It's always tough to wait to open your Christmas presents. I told my husband if you get me anything to hide it where I won't find it or else it will get opened early.

I have my secret santa box is packed and ready to mail. Had to sit on it to get the lid closed and taped up. Hope my person will love what I got them. Just waiting on a couple of items and then will take all packages to USPS on Monday.

I went and did a little shopping yesterday.... I'm feeling like I need to get a little more candy for my SS... there's just not enough in the box yet! I also have one more handmade item to finish this weekend. Then I will be wrapping up and sending out on Monday.

My Secret Santa package is winging its way home. Should arrive soon. It is going to be a long month and a week until opening day. This is so exciting and nerve racking at the same time. Wouldn't have it any other way.

Meanwhile, I will be working on Christmas gifts as I am so far behind myself this year, LOL.

I shopped yesterday for my Secret Santa and just orderd her most wanted and a couple other things online they will be her on Tuesday and then I will wrap everything up and mail out the package, I plan to decorate it so you will know it is for Secret Santa Swap.

December 7th won't work for me. My in-laws thought that day would be a good time to have a late Thanksgiving and an early Christmas.

No worries. Just open after you are done with dinner and such.

I'm back and feeling human again. Caught something on my way back from visiting my friend. Was sicker than ever. Could barely breathe, but did I go to the docs? Nope. Just dealt with it. Now that my cough is almost gone, I'm back. Need to get more things done for a craft show I'm doing at the church in a couple weeks.

I have my box ready to go in Monday’s mail!

sent off box to my SS from other swap I joined. only box i had big enough to hold everything was a styrofoam(sp?) one my daughter had brought home. but the box for this swap just needs one more item that i hopefully pick up tomorrow or Monday so box should be in mail by Tuesday.

Glad you are feeling better now, but EVERYONE please be careful! Both my best friend and myself tried to tackle the cough without a doc, both of us ended up in the emergency room(and she had a 5 day stay) when our bronchitis turned into pneumonia. What is going around is wicked.

I did some shopping today and now just have some handmaking to do!
