I agree... the Royal Mail have had three price hikes this year when we normally only have one... and they have, as you said in your post, created a whole new region just for the USA - unbelievable. But I look at it this way... I love taking part in these swaps, all the fun things in life are now banned in the UK... no cinema, dining out, going our for drinks, meeting friends, going to quilting groups etc. - so partaking of swaps is at the moment the most fun we have.... so I just pay! That said... when chatting to my daughter yesterday, we worked it out that it is cheaper to send a 2KG box of approx 35cm x 20cm x 10cm via DHL that the Royal Mail and it is insured for more and gets there in 2 - 3 days not two weeks... something you might look in to so you can still take part. Hugs Caroline Terri, keep the swaps coming.... I love them! I know that my Santee has received theirs which is exciting. I have also been told to expect 2 separate packages which will be exciting! |

I'm happy to do the 6th to open- with the time difference and being at work I'm not sure if I'll be around for Zoom but if I am I will happily join in. It sounds like a great idea for those of you who are able to though.

I have beenntold to expect 2 packages from my Secret Santa (lucky me!). One of them arrived yesterday and because I have sent to the postcode on the return address several times I am pretty sure I know who has sent something to me haha.
It is sat on my desk ready to be opened in a couple of weeks |

And I see by tracking that my package might actually be on the way to it's final destination. I mailed it on Nov 9th !!!! It has taken it's own sweet time. |
Any time works for me. I always feel sorry for our International swappers when it comes to a time. Is there a decent time for everyone?

We usually open at 6pm EST.
Does that sound good to all? If a few can't make that time, you can always open aftwards. Just make sure you message your person and/or post a thank you to your person. Everyone who sends like to hear from their person. |
Here in western Australia 6pm Dec 6 converts to 7am Dec 7. Works ok for me.

I'll try to make it. Not sure. My youngest is coming up that weekend to celebrate my birthday with me. She says we are going to go and get a tree (real one) and put it up and decorate. She also said something about making and decorating cookies too. She sure does have alot planned for my birthday!

Zoom etc
So zooming sounds fabulous! For those who haven’t zoomed yet, You don’t need an account, just a smartphone or computer if you want video, or a regular phone if you just want audio. With a smartphone, you download the zoom app and when it’s time, you open the app, list a name for yourself, and enter the meeting number and password, and waaa-laaa, you can see video and hear everyone. If there are a lot of people, you have to swipe left on more than one screen to see everyone. For a landline, you just call in, enter the meeting number and password, and it’s like you are on a conference call. I like the computer screen best because you can see more people easier with a larger screen. I got my package too and it is watching and waiting 🎁 hugs all!

I cannot wait for opening day, keep staring at the box and wanting to know what is inside, my granddaughter offered to open for me, said that way I could say I didn't open it, lol, little devil she is.
That time works for me, hope I remember and the granddkids will be here. Never have done zoom, not sure what to do, again, I will ask the granddkids, they always know what to do. lol |

Just been down to collect my mail and joy of joys my SS parcel was there and with 3 days to spare and it's huge. I believe we did a swap and with what's on the customs slip I know I'm going to love what's inside. I'll pm you now.

on another site we were encouraged to put our secret santa packages in quarantine when we rec'd them. wait 14 day to be sure no contamination. my
package for that swap has been in quarantine for nearly 3 weeks now so i figure its safe. |

Yes, but you can often do it off your phone too. |
Hi ! Not sure if I am following all the comments correctly but I think we are all opening our gifts on the 6th, tomorrow, which is fine with me! I work tomorrow so I will open my gift and message my sender with a thank you asap! I don't think I'll be able to work out the zoom. Hope everyone is enjoying the holiday season!

For those that haven't rec'd their package, please be patient. I have 1 person I have not been able to get in touch with and that is LindaC. If ANYONE has been in touch with her, please let me know. I have read on a couple other threads that she signed up for that she hasn't been heard from. This is not like her. She has been with Secret Santa for many, many years and has always come thru. I'm hoping that nothing is wrong and she will be in contact with someone soon. |
