Nessie.............You are so right, it could be so many different machines. My Oh My, what shall I guess!! I am glad to see you back for this Secret Santa exchange again this year. We are already having a lot of FUN!!
:D :D :D :D

CookyIN 09-26-2014 03:06 AM

I'm guessing it's a Viking. There's a certain one of those that if I ever see for sale "in person", I'm going to seriously consider it.

Right or wrong, this is fun. Great to see so many of the old gang back and all the newbies too!

Neesie 09-26-2014 07:09 AM

SulaBug, Cooky is to blame for me joining the swap again. She knows I keep a supply of coconut rum! :D

Since (I assume) we only get one guess, as opposed to a listing of all possible machines, I'm gonna ponder the question a bit more. Was just recently looking at a certain website, drooling over the sewing/embroidery machines. Am thinking she may have one of those, as the ones I remember were all white in color.

I'll give you a hint....
My machine is white and it sews and it embroiders. It's a very nice machine.

So.... its a "White" :D Cant wait until I know who to assemble for??? Had fun last year wrapping all the gifts. TGIF well almost have 2 hours left of work, then to the Pub for social time with the Scottish group.:)

sew diva 09-26-2014 07:23 PM

Yeah right, lets see Bernina, Babylock, Brother, Phaff, Husquvana Viking, and of course the best one Janome just to name a few.

Would you believe that only ONE person got the right answer?
She actually found the thread where I had posted a long time ago what machine I had.
She even had it down to the model number!!!

Now, who is the winner? Well...ya'll will have to wait until she gets her prize in the mail, then she can let the cat out of the bag. She doesn't even know she won!

SulaBug 09-26-2014 11:34 PM

Oh Goodie, we have a winner!! :D Sadly for me, I know that it wasn't me, as I didn't look though your old posts to see what I could find out!! :D But I am so HAPPY for the WINNER & can't wait to see who she is & what her prize is.
:D :D :D :D

CookyIN 09-26-2014 11:55 PM

Me too, SulaBug! I wasn't clever enough to think to do that.

I'm headed to the hole with some piping hot coffee and, oh let's see, how about one of those wonderful coffee cakes made with sour cream. It will have a wonderful band of decadent brown sugar, butter, and cinnamon running through it and is topped with the same baked to a crumbly streusel. Best of all -- no calories! Who's in?

Well, I guessed Janome. I surely would never have known a model number.

I did start making my swap mug rug. Here's a peek.

Dedemac 09-27-2014 01:35 PM

Okay its almost October and it's still 82 deg here! How am I suppose to get into the holiday mode when I want to sit in the hammock and sip on sangria? The streusel was great!!! Tomorrow I am going to make apple jelly, anyone want to help?

CookyIN 09-27-2014 02:22 PM

Irishgal, I love those vintage-looking snowmen. If you get me, I'd be a very happy camper to receive that in my package.

Now... I was absolutely pulling my hair out today... went to the mother lode of quilting yard sales and didn't have a clue as to what my Santee might like. Most stuff was quilt-shop new. Can't wait for October 1st to get here so I can have the fun of shopping!!!

Dedemac, I think I remember your wonderful apple fare from last year. Count me in!

buddy'smom 09-27-2014 03:06 PM

Well wasn't me as I didn't have a model #??

MizMelly 09-27-2014 03:56 PM

It wasn't me either. I told her what MY machine was! Duh. (it's a Janome, but a Quilter's Companion, not an embroidery and sewing machine).

tlrnhi 09-27-2014 05:40 PM

You didn't have to tell me the model. Just the maker.
Lots of Janome people out there, who knew, but it's not a Janome!

pyffer3 09-27-2014 06:02 PM

No winning for me. This time! I'm headed to a corner in the whole with a fresh pot of coffee and a bottle of Kahului. Anybody got something to trade for a cup?

Dedemac 09-27-2014 06:38 PM

Yes Kahlua, please pass me the bottle with some coffee, as long as the coffee is decaf other wise I will have some of the vodka that is near the pit. My back is not happy tonight so no sewing today. Can't wait to know who my SS is.

djmat 09-27-2014 08:10 PM

Had some bubbly last night at the Vault restaurant (renovated old bank)to celebrate DDs bd, yummy food, too. Cut out 40 of the Farmer's Wife templates today & things didn't get too blurry! Hope all have a great weekend!
hugs,
dj

NanaCindyLou................Welcome to your first Secret Santa exchange!! :D I know you are going to have so much fun interacting with all of us here. I am sure you won't be disappointed either. I have belonged to them since I joined in 2007 & wouldn't miss one for anything!! Glad to have you.
:D :D :D :D

MizMelly 09-28-2014 02:00 PM

This is my first year too!! I read all of the chatter and such from last year, but I'm still a bit confused. Can someone explain the hole to me? Is that where you go when you are naughty?

Yes, if you are naughty, you go to the hole. I'm still waiting for the farmer to take down the corn, but he hasn't as of yet, soooo...the new hole is open and when I was on the tractor, there was a snake there. Soo, ya'll already got company there. lol

I'll just stand on the edge and wave. I'm NEVER naughty. Ahem. And if I was Pinocchio my nose would be a foot long right now!

CookyIN 09-28-2014 04:30 PM

You'll come around MizMelly. All the fun happens in the hole, so even if you just plan to stand on the edge and peer in eventually you'll jump right in. Welcome to the swap -- it's always fun when new people join in!

The hole is where all the fun is. Naughty? Nah! We're simply misunderstood, fun-loving souls. :D

I also just stand on the edge and throw thing in at them:D Its fun to watch them run for the fabric and wine, not to mention the Rum. Those of us on the edge have fun also so come join us.

sew diva 09-28-2014 06:16 PM

Oh well what can I say. I love my Janome and think everyone should own at least one of them.

What a day I've had. I'm still in the process of reorganizing craft room and I'm almost done. So I sat down and took Christmas books out and started looking at projects to do for Secret Santa, I think I ended up marking 52 pages out of a total of 15 books. By this time my mind is so boggles it didn't know which direction to go, will wait and then tomorrow will eliminate. This is so much planning for. I also made homemade apple sauce. We have a place of 4 lots with apple trees and cherry tree. Wish I could send all of you a sample. It turned out so good. I hope all of you have a great week and will catch you later.

Marilyn what kind of cherry trees? We have 2 sour cherries that make wonderful jam and pies. Making the apple sauce and jelly makes the house smell so good, starts to smell like fall.

That picture would make a wonderful poster, to hang in the hole!

ArizonaKAT 09-29-2014 08:02 AM

there was a snake there.

Oh good. I'll bring the one I found in my bathroom last week so he can have a friend to hang out with.

Just be careful getting close to the hole, I do believe we've "pushed a few" last year.

MizMelly 09-29-2014 08:35 AM

I'm teetering on the edge already!! One sneeze and I'm in!

The only good snake is a dead snake!
