SulaBug your are too funny; but it might be a good idea at that LOL!

Cindy60545 12-20-2014 02:39 PM

Sulabug, it's way to early to know what we'll want in @ 9 months. Let's wait on this. However, I have been partaking of some of the great sales & making a few things for my SS box for next year. That way I'll just have to accommodate their wish list when I get it. Whomever I get is going to get lots of goodies, that's for sure!

mmac71 12-20-2014 06:17 PM

This was my first year to participate in any swap and can honestly say I have really enjoyed seeing all the wonderful gifts, banter and sharing that went on. I hated to see it come to a close. Reading on this board was my nightly entertainment. I thought that we were only to send 4 FQ's and a $20. gift, so I am afraid my receiver got jiped. I will do better next year and have already got some ideas of what to do. Merry Cristmas to all especially those that have lost loved ones and struggle with health problems. Marie

Your Santee did not get gypt,(sp?), it is just that some of us took the lead in sharing fabric and tools accumulated, but won't end up being used by us. Please join us next year. My first year, my SS sent me just the fat quarters and $20 in gifts. I was not disappointed. Right now DH and I are sleeping under a quilt made with those fat quarters, so they were used and are still enjoyed. Blessings on all of you. See you next year!

sunrise450 12-21-2014 08:10 AM

This has been my second year with this SS swap and I have loved every minute, I think my DH enjoyed it also. He made sure that I didn't open that package and was right there when I finally got to open it! I also have a number of "things" already for next year's special person. I want to thank all of you, especially tirnhi for hosting.
Merry merry Christmas to all and happy holidays.
Phyllis

This was my first year doing the SS swap and I had a lot of fun. I want to thank our wonderful organizer for all her hard work. I also want to thank everyone on the board for the great conversation and banter. I will definately be participating next year. In fact I am going to begin filling that box after the first of the year with some handmade goodies.

Have a Merry Christmas, or your celebration of choice, and a Happy New Year.

NESSIE, I am finally finished with my Christmas challenge. Finished the pillows over the weekend. Anticipating snuggling into all the pillows and fresh sheets . . .

juneayerza 12-22-2014 01:20 PM

Just a dog pillow ArizonaKAT; I have one too. LOL

dfelker 12-22-2014 03:28 PM

KAT, I almost finished my twin sized quilt. All it's lacking is the label and washing. The smaller one still needs trimming, binding, and then its label. :-( Unfortunately, my sciatica decided to flare up, on Thursday evening, so I haven't worked on either, since then. Just waiting it out and will have to wait until after Christmas, to get them finished and mailed. Getting old is a PITB!!!

I was wondering if the recipes have been sent yet? I thought perhaps I overlooked the email. I want to make the secret cheesecake.

I want to thank my SS and tirnhr for understanding my not answering prior to this.

My SS send me a lovely package. :)I now have 2 lovely Christmas potholders, a fat quarter stack, (very pretty colors). A lovely pink cap and purple crotchet scraf. A lovely journal and cover to carry the journal. A plastic canvas note cover a pad and pencil. A lovely sewing kit. A reversible table settings pattern, (I will make later this year). 2 blue dollies, a really cute bear decoration. Hopefully my picture posted. If not I'm sorry.

JuneBillie 12-23-2014 02:49 PM

Happylab, you received a wonderful package from your SS. Lots of pretty crocheted goodies. I love crocheted too. I can see the beautiful fabric, and know you will have fun with that. Nice patterns, cute little bear ornament, and note pad cover. Who can't use a pretty sewing kit? Everything is just wonderful. :)

Merry Christmas

Merry Christmas everyone!

JuneBillie 12-23-2014 07:21 PM

That's a very nice package you sent to her Jaba. You made many nice things. I see some very pretty thread, and lots of other very pretty, and useful things.

Merry Christmas to All.

Patchesnposies 12-23-2014 07:46 PM

Jaba, what a shame you didn't hear back from your swap partner, I can only imagine she was thrilled with all of the goodies! Thanks for posting pictures. I love the pincushion hanging caddy thing. (Does it have a different name?) Lovely SS swap!

m-fay 12-23-2014 08:59 PM

What beautiful things you sent her Jaba. Maybe she's going thru a bad patch and too sad to come on QB which is a shame cos I always feel how caring everyone is here. God bless you and have a great Christmas

m-fay 12-23-2014 09:01 PM

Knitette. I pm'd you but your box was full! Glad you liked it and have a great Christmas.

ljs317 12-24-2014 06:55 AM

Merry Christmas to all of you dear little quilters. May this be your best holiday ever.

sunrise450 12-24-2014 07:13 AM

I'm sorry you didn't hear from your swap partner jaba. Could be she is sick or someone close to her is sick. Such a lovely package jaba, I know she is enjoying everything in it.
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to all.

Neesie 12-24-2014 08:06 AM

Jaba, the gift you sent your Secret Santa-ee is fantastic! I especially love that little hanging thread catcher thingy!
All I can figure is that our Secret Santa-ees must be waiting until Christmas, to open their gifts. They're probably busy preparing for Christmas and not checking the QB, or surely would have posted by now.

Merry Christmas, dear friends!

Mariposa 12-24-2014 09:19 AM

jaba- a wonderful variety of items you have sent to your ss! For whatever reason she has not answered. Bless you for your generosity and sharing of your time and talents to make her package great!

Merry Christmas everyone! We are finally getting snow! Big snowflakes~

I opened my SS package on Christmas, 1 day after getting home from the hospital which is the reason for the delay in posting my picture. Thanks, Nurse Bonnie for all the terrific goodies.

Jane, it looks like you got lots of goodies. I hope you are feeling better and on the mend. Thanks for posting pictures. Take good care of yourself!

So glad you're home now and were able to open your package and post pictures. Thanks for letting us see your gifts!

sew diva 12-28-2014 05:51 PM

Hi everyone,
First let me apologize to all of you especially my secret santa. Unexpectedly I was called out of town (like way out) and did not have my box or computer to post. We arrived back late last night and to be honest with you never even thought of the box until now. So here goes. Cutting tape opening flaps. Oh wow. This box is packed. Okay first item not wrapped and full of packages. Slowly lifting it out so that I don't drop anything. OH a gorgeous thread catcher in a type of plaid perfectly matched. Boy my Santa is good!!! ummm....ohhhh..... the pin cushion is removable. Never saw one like that before. That's a great idea. Easier to clean out. Next a snowman tin filled with Hershey Kisses and has a hanger to be able to hang it on my tree next year. (didn't have time to put one up this year) Oh my never had a chance to try this Burt's Bees Body lotion and lip balm. I've heard others rave about it and now I'll get to try it. Next Vintage Textile Soak....great for restoring antique quilts. Now that's handy. Now 4 fat quarters that are color coordinated to go perfectly together. A pattern called Silver Star on a laminated card. That makes good sense they must know my spill rate on patterns. Goodness 4 more fat quarters that go together and a pack of 2.5" squares that go with them. Just wonderful. Awwww a tea pot ornament. So adorable. Sweet tooth is getting assorted chocolates from a Whitman's Sampler. mmmmmmmmmmmm!!!! Okay what in the world is this??? In a tin looks like some sort of paper clip. Wait reading packaging....Oh these are those Quilt binding clips. Never saw them before so it will be interesting trying them out. Has to beat pinning, getting stuck by pin and bleeding on quilt. I have a quilt ready for binding so will definitely be trying out these clips. Next is a Minnie Mouse tin with a screen cleaner in it. Boy this computer screen needs a good cleaning. And last is a different kind of seam ripper. The end looks kind of coiled but wait it says unique cap grabs and easily removes loose thread. Now how clever is that. And a beautiful card....from my secret Santa......Judy Shepler......Thank you so much for all the wonderful goodies. I have so many new things to play with that I'm not sure what to start with first. Everything was wrapped with the exception of the thread catcher. I really applaud you at the matching up of the plaid fabric. You are much braver and better then me.
Judy I was actually fairly close to you during my time away. I was in Winter Haven at my daughters. If I had had the package with me I would have tried calling you.

I do hope that everyone had a wonderful Christmas and I do want to wish everyone a happy, healthy, prosperous New Year. May you all have lots of quilts to make and show in 2015. God Bless!

A quick question. Will there be a secret peter cottontail swap? Might be fun.

Read on here, many pages ago, that there would be a valentine swap after Christmas rush is over.

sew diva 12-28-2014 07:05 PM

Okay I'll start now just in case there is one for Valentine's Day. Oh I'm getting excited again. Now I know I have red fabrics all I need to do is find them. Quilt room is a disaster zone. I'm even afraid to go in it. LOL.

Now, how did I miss that post? Will it be posted seperately? Just got back from VA for a week at my daughter's house & trying to play catch up on the computer...didn't bring it with me. Hope everyone's Xmas was great. Happy New Year everyone!
