I read the general instructions (which were really more rules than instructions). Still unsure about the swap part. So when I'm done (and since posting the above, I've started, and I'm about half-way done-- VERY fun!), I'm going to send it somewhere. And I *think* I'm going to receive someone else's? Guess I'm just a bit confused about why someone would want a self portrait of ME...
AND can I just say that googling "self portrait quilt" especially at images.google.com was also very very fun and inspiring. There are some DANG good artists out there! -- jillaine approaching midnight |

Finished mine...in fact I did two...I liked the first one so much I did another to keep one...I'm now putting the binding on and it will be ready to go when name is rec'd...
This was a great idea because it got everyone thinking "who am I" and how to translate that to fabric... |

Dot, I love your self portrait that ended up as your avatar. Are you going to make another one? I started, was going to write Express across the top and Yourself along the left side. Then I was going to make a silhouette and fill it in with stuff that I like. That is where I got stuck. I could not find a picture of a woman's silhouette that I liked. I will hit it again this weekend.

I'm using my avatar as my self portrait mug rug. I have never had to design a face, especially my own. I think it is coming together at last. I really like these colors, and yes my hair is white.
