September 2020 Pincushion Swap
 

Hi Everyone,

Welcome to the September 2020 Pincushion Swap. Whilst I know some of us are in isolation I know some people can manage to get to the Post Office or mail and they feel, and I agree, that having a little swap to look forward might make things seem a little more normal at the moment… so… here we are!

You must be signed up by the 30th September 2020 as partners names will be sent out between 1st and 2nd October 2020. You must have mailed by the 8th October 2020. This is a hard and fast deadline - no excuses. You must also please let me know when you mail and when you receive... this is so I can make sure that everybody receives a pincushion.

This is a personal choice swap so you can make any type of pincushion that you would like to.

Before signing up, please read the rules below:

Rules

As with all swaps there must be rules so here are ours!

1. This is a secret swap.
2. This is not a partnered swap so you may not receive from the person you send to.
3. Everybody on the board is welcome to take part.
4. This will be a bi-monthly swap (6 in a year) – you only take part in the months that you sign up for.
5. If you commit to taking part you must send out a pincushion… no excuses!
6. If you encounter a problem or issue, you must let me know immediately; there is nothing that cannot be sorted and re-organised if you communicate.
7. You are only committed to send a pincushion…. You may, if you wish send other items, but please do not expect to receive anything more than a pincushion.
8. Be kind to the person you receive from… we are all at different levels of experience on this board and we need to encourage each other… so if you receive an item from a less experienced stitcher - just appreciate the time and love that has been put into making it.
9. You must mail your item by the deadline above... no excuses.
10. You must let me know when you send and when you receive. This allows me to keep track of things and ensures that everybody receives a pincushion
11. The main rule is to have fun making and receiving some lovely creations.

Sign-ups will start now and close on the 30th September 2020 for this round.

When signing up, please let me know if you have a nut allergy as some people fill their pincushions with walnut shells. Also please let me know if you are willing to mail internationally (please consider this as it allows everyone to participate in the swap).

I was thrilled to receive my pincushion today from Michelle. We have actually met a few times in local classes making it even more special. It is truly one my favorites that I have received!

I received a wonderful pumpkin pincushion, a mug rug and a tea towel with a lovely fabric card from Connie.... I just love it. I really do love Autumn and everything that comes with it and pumpkins make me smile. Thank you so much Connie... I love everything you sent.

Love those Pcs Caroline. Still waiting for mine but heard the other day that Australia isn't receiving mail from some countries. It's probably just a rumour because of the delays because I received a parcel from England last week and that didn't take too long.

So... in all the time I have done this swap I have never made a mistake.... until now!!!!!!!

I should have sent to Michelle-Quilts this time but I mailed to Cuppy by mistake. In my defence... I mailed out a lot of items on the same day so when I checked the address of my person I looked at the wrong line...... My reason for telling you all this is that I would like to apologise to Michelle... I am so sorry that your pincushion will now be quite late but I promise that it will be in the mail by the end of the week.

I promise to take more care next time - LOL LOL LOL.

Well I have sent my pin cushion swap out, a very very long journey....

I have received a vintage pin cushion ceramic egg cup in yellow. so dainty. It has a tiny pair of scissors attached. Very usable. New yellow pins to use with the yellow pin cushion. Thank you again. What a nice surprise during my birthday month. Thank you Reba quilts.

Thanks so much M-Fay for the beautiful pincushions and fabric and mug rug! I’m posting a picture for everyone to see. It arrived while I’ve been sick with covid so I’ve been a bit challenged. I’m so grateful! Hugs!!!

It was indeed Nonnie! The cutest strawberry pin cushions. And I could smell the lavender when I opened the mailbox!!

Today,Dec 1, my pin cushion arrived from Cuppy. Thank you so much and it's just the shape I like. And I love the "wrapping" too, a piece of fabric which I know I will use. Unfortunately I can't take a photo as my phone won't send to QB and my computor is getting a clean out and I won't have it home till next week. I will post a pic on the next pin cushion thread.
