Wow you guys are quick!
It's was in the high 80's here last week, almost perfect. The magnolia tree is losing it's leaves, which is always our first sense of fall. Then I checked the forecast for this coming week.....high 90's until weeks end then into the 100's OMG. Come on! I know Fall is hiding out there somewhere!!!!!! Our kids left for Germany yesterday and sent word it was storming in Berlin. I'm a little jealous. The Berlin Train station, with my son's new camera lens :) |
I worked the weekend and now have the next 4 days off. Sewing, here I come!!

I'm posting it but girls please tell me why my pictures are posting upside down and sideways. I'm taking the picture correctly but it's not downloading right... Thank you Jaba. I'm in the middle of making my mini quilt. It'll be sent out next week
|
Thats weird Nan. When I look at your post using my iPad, the pic is correct. On my Mac it's sideways??? who knows! But any way I see it, it's gorgeous :) Great job Jan. I'm feeling cooler already.

Glad you like it Nan, I could just feel it getting cooler as I sewed:)
Don't know about your pics but have seen posts where if you use an IPad you need to turn it sideways to take the pic and when you post it comes out straight. Don't know I always post from computer, haven't figured out how with my phone or IPad:) Here's a pic from my computer |
Oh cool! Thanks for posting that Jan. I LOVE the acorn fabric! Couldn't see it in the distance pic.

I know now that's weird. Sometimes when I save my picture it is sideways but taken correctly. It's sideways on my albums too. What am I doing wrong? |

|
Cheesehead and I have been in touch. Finishing my project in a day or so and will post picture after she receives it.
|
I've been working on your mini too Kitsy and hope to have it finished by this weekend.
Jan |
I told myself that since I was without a partner this month that I'd catch up on some of my other projects. Then.....I got a little lazy! So after a small pep talk I am working again on a scrappy Christmas quilt :)
I love what I've seen so far this month. Fall is my favorite time of the year! Im taking suggestions for next months theme, anybody have a great idea? |
Jaba I'm sending out your mini quilt tomorrow. Blessings to you. Tlambing out it'll go.
|
Theme: well, this is a bit radical but everyone is back to school. It would be fun to do a quilt called "I Learned Something New". I need to learn how to bind some hexagons, and I need to learn to handquilt a redwork piece. So that's my idea.
Of course harvest & turkeys are good. I have a big collection of turkey objet. I loved showing my art students how artists make turkeys look beautiful. Really unattractive birds!! Whatever you choose will be fun! |
Hello everyone. I just found this site and forum tonight and thought I would chip in. I have a lot on my place through November but if you guys are doing mini quilts every month, I'd sure like to be able to join in in December. Until then, I will just follow along here... now to find a pic of a quilt block I've done for my picture.
|
My garden has put me in the "harvest" mood. Hubby planted 2 hills of pumpkin and we have 40 big ones in the garden. Going to put out a sign..."free come and pick" Hope to get rid of them. Sure feels like fall this morning, a chilly 41 deg.
Nan I'll be watching for a package and will let you know when it arrives. |
Oh Jaba, you are so lucky! Can you post a picture? I love pumpkins & we love pumpkin butter!
|
Mini quilt for me!

Would love to be there with you!! I only thing I really miss in NYC is having a veg garden
|
Can you grow things in pots? Wish you were here too, you could take all you want.
|
Jan your garden looks great! I felt bad to leave my garden back in Wisconsin, we had fresh tomato's every day for our salads. Before we left for Alabama we let the neighbors know they could help themselves to anything in the garden. We have been here just over a week and it bothers me to have to buy my vegetables.
|
Know what you mean by buying those vege's, would much rather have the fresh ones. I will have onions, potatoes, carrots and beets all fresh until next March or April. Sure saves on the grocery bill.

Hi all,
Just popping in to say I'm 'reel' close to finishing up Quiltermomma's mini. Dh and I got blindsided with a virus that set me back a day or two. I'll be attaching the binding today and maybe even get the hand stitching done. Hopefully, this little piece will be 'leaf'ing here in just a day or two. And, since I'm not much of a characters or 'cutesy' kind of girl, I went with colors that hint of autumn, but could be used year round, if QM chooses. Best, deb in Maine |
I am getting in the mood. Pumpkins & gourds are at the sidewalk displays, mums, asters, and some gorgeous grassy plants I can't identify. Do we have an October theme? Nature?
|
I got my mini quilt today. I just love it. My partner is klaws. She did a great job on the quilt. I will post pictures.
