How about incorporating photos of the sons somehow?

I don't have any pictures of them. :( I've never met them. :( Hmmm...let me see if I can get her to let me "borrow" a couple of each... :)

I am working on something here for military as a fundraiser that will have photos of the soldiers on it. You can tell a little white lie about me needing photos for it and you wondered if she would email pictures of her sons to either you to forward to me or directly to me to be included in it.

OK, I think she is going to let me borrow a picture of each in their military uniform. Also it was brought up to do the Blue Star Service Banner. I'm going to get started on these ASAP and I think I'm going to make a few of them. :) That way she can have 1 to put up in her window at home now. :) The design is coming together in my head...now to get it on paper. :)

I actually took time to sit and sew tonight. Haven't sewed in 2 months. Just cut a ton of fabric. Got 2 rows sewed and pressed. Have 2 rows left then sashing and border. So happy. It's for my brother for Christmas. What better day to start it than on his birthday!!!

Need to have packages in hand no later than next Wednesday, 8/24/2011. A post mark no later than THIS Friday, 8/19/2011 should give the USPS ample time to deliver without a grace period. After THIS Friday, 8/19/2011 PRIORITY shipping is recommended. After Monday, 8/22/2011, OVERNITE shipping or FedEx, etc. is required....

Yosemite - I love your panel for the quilt. I have one of those panels for a soft book with presidents - that I was thinking about fussy cutting to make something with mine but I haven't decided how to lay it out yet.

He ran off with it. He put it in one of his MANY hiding places and it took me 2 days to find it. Just like it took me FOREVER to find his shoes this morning. He has like 4 or 5 hiding places that I have found and I don't know how many I haven't found...UGH!!! Gotta love the hoarding and hiding phase. :)

I love them ALL!!! By the time I was done doing that last night, my eyes were hurting from squinting. Thinking I may need to wear sunglasses when I actually start the swapping. :)

Swapping has begun. All sets are numbered and the first 18 sets are swapped. ;) only 100+ sets left to swap. More tomorrow. ;)

Well, it never fails...during the swapping last night we had a power outage for a couple of minutes. I have a Puggle (pug and beagle mix) who anytime the power flickers he whines and cries and all 45+ pounds crawls into my lap. Let's just say, I"m thankful I had just finished swapping a set because he knocked everything out of the way to get into my lap. ;)

Sorry y'all, I took last night off (I know right...how could I do that) and actually went to bed at 8:30pm. We actually got some much needed rain and I laid in bed (with a migraine) and listened to the raindrops in the window and drifted off to sleep. Lil man woke up around 8:15 because it thundered and scared him, but he went right back to sleep and slept all night long too. I think we both enjoyed the lullabye of the soft patter of raindrops on the window. ;) Now...back in full force to swap tonight (after I clean up my yard from all of the downed limbs 70mph winds will do that!)...we will see how many I can get through!!! My goal...80 sets...OH MY!!!

I'm glad you took what was probably a much needed break. We are all excited but I think we all would like you to be having fun as well. heaven forbid it turns into a chore. Then we would all lose out.

I hate to ask, but what is the deadline to mail the Sept swap fabric squares to you? I have them ready, but don't want to bother you with them just yet.

MarciaD, you can start mailing tomorrow. Sign up will be posted in the morning. ;) I've finished 48 sets now!!! Having fun today. No headache yet. Had to clean the property after last night's storm, so did that right after work, did dishes, cleaned kitchen then sat and swapped 30 sets in 2 hours!!! Off to pick baby boy up!!!

Swapping is complete!!! Tomorrow I bundle everything up and ship out!!!

Won't be able to ship out today. Baby boy started coughing this morning. He can't be getting sick. :(

Thank you so much!!! Honestly, every time I see your little avatar pop up on my screen, I smile!!! ;) He seems to be doing better right now, but we will see. I'm going to get everything in envelopes and taped up and marked for the post office tonight while lil man is sleeping and I'm going to try and get them there in the morning when they open. If not, then they will mail out on Monday. ;) Will keep y'all posted. ;)
