I just wanted to take a moment to thank first whomever it was that decided to contact everyone from every Boomerang swap and ask them to make me a block as a way to say thank you for the swap and that you appreciate me as a hostess. I do not know who did this but whichever one of my wonderful swappers it was I thank you from the very bottom of my heart. I received my first set of blocks on Monday and that was one of my really bad days so it really warmed my heart and brought tears to my eyes to come home and find such a surprise in my mailbox. Yesterday I came home and found five more beautiful blocks. (I am going to post a complete list of who from this evening as I forgot my list at home :-( )
Second- all of the love, support, and caring nature of all of you swappers really means more to me than you could ever know. It was a very hard decision for me to sit out of 3 but I felt it was best for everyone as I did not want to let anyone down-I love you all and want you to enjoy this swap for as long as possible so I have to get myself better so I can keep hosting it :P
There really are not enough words to say thank you to everyone who said yes to making me a block-it is a huge sign of just how many kind and wonderful people there still are in this world. I am glad to call you all my friends and that you are my swappers too lol
So again to whomever took this major project (there are a lot of people in this swap) on I thank you from the bottom of my heart. You will never know just how much it means to me that someone I have never met in person thinks enough of me to go that extra step and help me smile when times get tough.
And to everyone who has made me a block I thank you all as well. The tears roll out whenever I get one and my heart continues to swell with such warm emotions I think it may burst.
You are all wonderful and I am blessed to have you in my life. You have made such an impact on my life. You all may never know just how much but you did. I am going to make these blocks in to a "hug" quilt for me so that when I have a bad day I can wrap up in the "arms" of my friends and feel the love through the miles.

FINALLY!!!! My camera is working with my laptop again-yeah!!!!
I received more lovely blocks today from Odessa, Montanablu, Sew Cornie & KSea. They are all beautiful and I LOVE them. You ladies are amazing and I get tears every time I open an envelope. It is so refreshing and endearing to get such loving squishies in the mail. THANK YOU ALL!!!

Now I took this picture the other night so my latest blocks are not in it but I will take an updated picture ASAP :-)

That's one thing about the Boomerang Swap I'm really enjoying ... working with colors that I might not normally think of, but that end up looking great together! :mrgreen:

I will be putting updated pictures up this week. September is always a nutty month for me and with the conference last week I am behind :-( I LOVE LOVE all of my blocks. :-)
Here are two of my design ideas...I am thinking of making the blocks in to a log cabin style and then laying them out...

I love your idea but if the blocks are 12 finished and with the log cabbin added your quilt is going to be humongous!! Just kidding. Maybe you can do top and back with blocks so you will be able to reverse it and see more blocks. How many do you have so far?

Thank you so much Barb! I am putting the blocks together now with sashing. I was thinikng about sending eveyone a small piece of fusible stuff for them to trace their hand and then applique the hands on the quilt so it really is my friends hands and hearts!

Thank you ladies so much. I wish I could say I was doing better but with them watching for the chiari my pressure levels are going up and the meds do not do a whole lot right now. Guess what Guess What??? I have put my first row together with the sashing strips and I am thrilled!!! The sashing I picked is a directional fabric so I had to be real meticulous when cutting it so it did not make it look wonky and I did it!!
I will post pictures tonight!
