Thank you all for your kind comments. The idea came from a book called "Pinwheel Party". I made a few changes -- the dresses were supposed to be appliqued and I decided to make them free hanging using small wooden clothes pins so they could be changed. It was so much fun to make.

I really enjoyed your quilt Aurora! I have a clothesline with clothes and pins like that. Never thought about using it in a quilt.

Jaba - it went today and I PM'd you the tracking number. So excited!

Hey Mary - Joann's also has a sale on 60" unbleached muslin -10 yards for $20.00. Monday the 29th for that one. I am going to stock up in case I am still unemployed for a while - it isn't the fabric you can't get (there is always Goodwill for that) but the batting and backing are EXPENSIVE.

    My Angel

Oh My!!! JNCT14, I can't thank you enough. This wall hanging is absolutely beautiful and the quilting is awesome. Thank you so much for sending me the instructions to make it also, think I will do a couple of them for my daughter in laws. Don't know if I can master the feathers as well as you did....may have to have you quilt it for me. I really do love it and it will always be special, more than you know. Thank you again for being my angel.Name: DSCF1549.JPG

What a great topper. Nice to get the pattern with it. It would look great in just about any setting. Very nice JNCT14. I posted in #4 WH that your top is finished and now to get it quilted. It is going to get to you, I promise.

jaba, what a gorgeous wallhanging you got from jnct14, the colours are so pretty.

mary quilting, I love the 'friends' sayings on your wallhanging from skaduzy and look at those little extras, lucky gal. Your art quilt is amazing, I so wish I could be that creative.

WOW I wish could do art quilts. Feline Fanatic keeps saying that they are easy - maybe for her and Ube but not me! . BTW Jaba - all the quilting was done on a midarm and the best advice I ever got for making feathers was this - draw a line and pretend you are writing cursive m's down the line. Works every time!
Ha - I entered the AQS sweepstakes and as much as I would love to win, they are giving away a longarm machine - but my sewing room is only 12 x 10!!!! hahhaha

What a good idea, M's, never thought of it that way. Less intimidating sound to it too! Gonna' have to try and just tell myself to write m's. If you win, hope you have room to add on would just hate to have to store it for you.

All are great to see. Gives me more reasons to push myself into new areas with new ideas.
Unfortunately for me, I love every style and color imaginable so I jump from one thing to the next and mix everything together.

Yesh ube but thats why your stuff is so creative! And yes Ms do work. I always thought feathers wete just for longarmers until I found that technique.

I am posting here and on the 4th WH thread just in case. Our annual potato and corn festival started up this weekend and my job search is not realizing a lot of results so I was feeling a little blue yesterday. However, I went to the mailbox for our deliveries, and what do I find from Jaba???? The loveliest package with a wonderful note, a bar of hazelnut Milksa chocolate (my FAVORITE) and a fat quarter of quilting tags!!!! It definitely lifted my spirits!!!! Many thanks Jaba!!!!!!!

Hi JNCT14, ube here . Quick ? for you re: your 3rd WH hint. Do you know what a haiku is? Be prepared when you get your 3rd WH. I am working on it right this minute! You are in my thoughts.
Is a potato & corn festival what I think it is?

haha yep it is truly a Potato and Corn Fest with vendor booths, tons of fair food, rides, live music and fireworks. The cheerleaders worked the hamburger booth and parked cars as part of our fundraising efforts. They also did 2 exhibitions and were terrific. I worked 12 hours on Saturday on the grill. UGH.

I LOVE haiku - I used to write it when I was young. I find the simplicity and structure to be very soothing.
