The quilt blocks are 12 1/2" and can be whatever pattern we choose. I usually try to 'mix it up' a little and make a variety of different quilt blocks. When I finish each quilt block, I mail it back to the sender. Then, she will have lots (16 in my current Boom) of blocks made from the same focus fabric. Sometimes, senders will send a few different fabrics. In the end, I will have 16 blocks made from the F8 fabric I sent to the other participants.

It's really fun. The current Boom just started in July and will finish November 1st. Keep an eye out on the QB for sign-up for the next Boom.

Yes, there is the expense of postage. In my first Boom, I was mailling not only to several people in the US, but also in Canada, the UK and Australia!! My current Boom is all US participants. Whew!

Update on your row: as I was putting the blocks together, I realized there was a 'North/South' component to your quilt and my blocks were not going the right direction!!! AAAAaaahhhhh - - - so, I had to do some 'frog' stitching and will have to do some re-arranging to make it flow the right direction. It all started with Barbaras' Mississippi River. Well, you understand. . . will be in the mail on Wednesday.

Default I think I decided

I am finally happy with my tea cup and tea pot (well almost! - now that I look at the pic I need to fix the handle of the pot) and this just may be my center. This is my final free long weekend until mid Sept. as I will either be working or traveling and visiting relatives on the east coast. I really wanted to get this project ready to go out the door when we get back! What do you'all think - do you want to work with my peaceful time quilt block?

travelingramma - -

It's beautiful. Funny thing - - I was thinking of the same kind of idea but in shabby chic colors. So should I think of something else or go with my idea?

To my way of thinking it doesn't make any difference if two centers are alike....they'll be in different colors and end up in two different homes. Go for it! Who knows.......maybe I'll do a tea set, too!!!

Oh Jane - Tea for all of us - that sounds good!! How different they will be! Maybe I can add a few teacups to yours!!
I think mine will be starting at 12 x 18. I am thinking that this will be for me when I want to curl up with a book and my cup of tea!
