I'm looking for bright -- solids, neons; I want it to glow out from the black background. Besides, batiks are getting so darn expensive... If I find the patterns I'm looking for, I'll post a picture of kinda-sorta what I'm aiming towards. It won't be difficult, and probably the easiest row to do.

This is going to be for me.

I guess the journal entries would include who was working on the row, time of year, description of geographic location, maybe some small talk about what's going on at the time (eg. holiday prep, kids, grandkids, major events). Small talk, rambling thoughts, anecdotes, recipes, etc. In your case maybe where you happen to be at the time. Picture would be us working on each of the other quilts so four separate pix and then maybe a pic of each of us with our completed quilt. That way we have a face to put with each row in the journals.

I believe the consensus was that each of us would take care of our own quilt label.

Am I right on this, everybody????? I don't want to be a dictator -- I want everybody happy and everybody to get what they want.
Stars are your idea of easy? Now I know I'm in the wrong place. LOL. I already ordered some beautiful black on black and some bright batik/balis which I hope are what you are looking for. Do you have favorite colors?

Nancy, if you don't mind, could you please post a list of the order of the themes so we can "think ahead"? I can't for the life of me find my original PM. Know we have a pink/brown and a ladies/girls, which I don't quite get. Is that all of them? Thanks

Hopefully this will help. It's all in the thread but spread out over the pages...LOL! :D

You will be mailing to me each time. First you'll mail your own row, then you'll get, add a row and send me the following in this order:

Nancy in Louisiana - She has the bright solid stars on a black background. Full block size or combinations of smaller blocks for a scrappier look.

Pamesue - pink and brown sampler blocks; there is a picture of her finish row on page 2 of this thread:
http://www.quiltingboard.com/t-85982-2.htm

TF Quilter - ladies/girls of past & present; there is a picture of her finished row on page 3 and she has answered a bunch of questions about it so just read after her picture and you can see where we all asked all kinds of stuff: http://www.quiltingboard.com/t-88719-1.htm (scroll down about half way down page)

Qbee - My theme is "SPRING". Think girly...LOL. I love it all....tend to prefer brights but with Spring I think pastels and brights will actually be pretty together. I'm picturing flowers, bee, butterflys, ladies in bonnets (hint for TF..LOL!), watering cans, dogwood trees, anything "Spring" :D

Here a reminder of due dates:
Row 1 -- Feb 15
Row 2 -- April 15
Row 3 -- June 15
Row 4 -- Aug 15
Row 5 -- Oct 15

I hope this helps!! I'm SOOOO excited :D

Y'all are getting way too high tech on these labels --- sounds like a lot of work (lol).

OK , now that everything is as clear as mud (well, maybe mud where the silt has settled and the top is somewhat clear). As far as my star blocks go, I'm just aiming towards bright mottled or solids (no dots, checks, flowers, stripes, paisleys, etc) on a mostly black background. Batiks are fine, and black-on-blacks are fine (where did you find them?). I suppose I'll start working on my blocks tonite since my DQ is done and I'm still waiting to hear confirmation from my "Qltg in the New Year" buddy. It's COLD here (not supposed to be), and I'm oh so ready to just curl up with my Kindle in my bed.
