I like having the journal/notebook with a profile of ourselves, maybe a few photos of our family our quilts or photos you want to share. I like having a sig label from each person we can put them on the back of quilt. A clear description of your row robin theme. I am not sure about postage, not sure what size pkg it needs to be in.First couple of rows could be in a smaller box or mail bag. Name of the group ...well group 4 is ok with me.

Okay, checking in.... Very excited about this. I am open to pretty much anything. Quilters across america sounds great. So I would send to Lv2sew each time correct? I like the idea of the journal.
I have not completely decided on my theme because I what I was thinking might not work,,,,,, what do you think of a mary poppins quilt??? Honest answers only.....lol.

I went looking to see if I could create a Mary Poppins Embroidery Design but had issues finding one. Do you have a pattern for to give some ideal...

Yes, you would send to Lv2sew each time you have finished a row on each quilt. What did you mean by a Mary Poppins quilt? As, appliquing her on each block, carpet bag stlye or just a multitude of colors.

So far, it sounds as if 4 of us are for including sashing and sewing the rows together. Also, 3 of us are up for a journal to be included and one has thought of including a large siggy block for the back.

Just one reminder the packages we send must be insured. This is part of the requirements for this RR.

My quilt does not have sashing, but I will be including the background fabric for you to use in your blocks for mine.

I agree with describing what our themes are so each member has a good idea of what is needed. If you have a link or picture of your idea this should help all of us. One thing I thought I would do is include the specifics in with my quilt when I mailed it out.

One suggestion is to not send the quilt tops until one week prior to the deadline. This is a good standard, should we choose to go this route. I personally am ok with mailing early if desired. I'm sure a few of us may love to have our tops as soon as we can.

Anyway, great discussion so far! Let's keep the ideas flowing!

So this is what I see in my head.... yes crazy thoughts. I saw a row robin on here that of course I can not find now that was of a city on christmas eve.... at the bottom was an ice skating rink, then someone put a row of city buildings, and the final row was santa and his sleigh of reindeer in the sky. this is where I got my crazy thought. My row would be the top with Mary Poppins, with clouds, maybe kites, birds, I dont know...... then the next rows could have tops of buildings with chimney sweeps, a park with side walk chalk paintings, the kids who are flying the kites, a bird lady.... Mr. Banks Bank, Bert and his one man band.... the merry go round, the penquins serving food, a fox somewhere,,,,, really lots of ideas..... just dont know if this idea is the best for this group or should I find something more simple?

GirlScouts, I was confused reading your post. But, you could list the rows you want and as one person does them, it is 'checked' off and won't be done by the next person. I'm not one for the 'scene' type of quilt - the buildings, people, etc, but I'd give it a try. Just think I'd not have as good a row as everyone else.

I can relate. Although, I'd be willing to try. I'm only concerned someone will want embroidery in their quilt and I don't have an embroidery machine. Although, one thing I've learned recently through BOM swaps in my guild was there are some neat techniques out there to try and I am enjoying learning them.

OK I have been in row robin prior, I can do a row according to your theme, I do believe This is not a time for me to experiment. I might decide to do a long 1 piece row. I hope you all agree. The row robin should be a surprise. I do agree on suggestions for colors and ideas. I do not want to do a row by a pattern or a exact description, I can not meet these expectations.
I have decided upon a beach theme, so everything that you can do at the beach or see at the beach works. We have a vacation beach house on the Gulf in Venice Florida. We go every weekend we can.I think this would be a nice addition to the house. I can send a few scrap pieces of beach fabrics to help out if needed. I would want beach colors and beach scenes, and beach motif fabrics. All methods...blocks,applique,embroidery,1 long row....horizontal. it is up to you to decide, it is a surprise.
