Per Roda's request, here is my story.

Married mom of 3. Ages 25, 19, 16. I don't work outside the home. We always felt a stay home parent was important and have tried to make that work for us.

My quilts are generally very traditional. The quilt for this will be traditional blocks in blacks, whites, greys, tone on tone, etc. I went with that instead of my usual 30's fabrics because I didn't want to send people out shopping for very specific fabric they might not even like. Black and white is generally available in some form and I wanted it to be easy for everyone. I see this as a social event not an attempt at an award winning quilt.

Thanks Lisa that is pretty clear. Thanks for saying don't stress out as I woke up to find email about the groups, some already having a clear idea about what they are doing...yikes...I am still in decision mode even though I have my theme!

Road hi, I love your life! Living with cows, horses, chickens and braking ponies for harnesses all sound like work to die for! Nice meeting you. I'm married we have 2 children, my husbands dtr is an engineer and my son just graduated as a Clinical psychologist. Husband will be retiring next year and I am a retired social worker. We just relocated and I am teaching myself to quilt, fuse glass, make soap, crochet rag rugs, garden, and make torch beads. Quilting always gets a bit more attention! We live in central California. I have made a few quilts but still consider myself a newbie. I am excited about this row robin thing too so I had better get to thinking...all I know right now is my theme is Asian and sashing will be included. Now to go to my studio and have some fun.

That is my understanding that all of us in group 5 send to each other while the other groups send to their group members. Do I have that right or do the groups send to the other groups. Like I said I haven't done this before so maybe I don't have it right!
Nope, I'm doing 2... I'm in group #2 and this one (#5).

Hi group #5
I am Pat and I live in Tn. for the last 25 yrs. My husband is from here and when we retired from the military this is where we came home to. We have 1 daughter and she has 4 children and 3 grand children. Which also means we are GREATgrand parents. We also have 3 boys and one of them has 2 young daughters. These grand and greatgrands are the same age. Our boys married late and our DD married early. We live in a rural area but not in the hicks. LOL our town has about 5,000 ppl. I have been quilting a number of years mostly for the grands and greatgrands and baby gifts. This year I am trying to make each of our kids a quilt, they all have King size beds. grrrrrr I actually started last year and I am on #3. It is a scrapy log cabin. I am excited to meet everyone and to see how every ones quilt turns out.... I have just one question.. If someone wants traditional blocks for their row do we use the same pattern for each block for the whole row, and just different colors?? I guess this goes for every quilt. This is my first row robin
Can I change my mind about my theme???? I would like to change it to HOMES we moved around so much in the military that HOME means a lot to me. This can be a home for anything... like , dog houses, bird houses, mouse holes . If this is ok with everyone I promise not to change my mind again.... cross my heart . Thank you all for letting me join in.
Happy sewing

Roda, that sounds like a great theme! How old is she? I have much experience with little girl divas. I'm sure I can come up with some blocks for that.

Pat, you can change your theme until the row is sent out. Do whatever makes you happy. My theme is traditional blocks, but I don't care if every block in the row is the same or not. Feel free to try whatever blocks you want. I figure as long as the colors go together it will all work out OK. I have an Uncle that is retired Air Force hanging out in your area. He is in Adams. His wife is big in quilty circles down there.

Well, Roda, I get your quilt last but no matter what the others do to it I will still have plenty of diva ideas. My resident diva can help me out if necessary. I'm looking forward to seeing how your diva idea plays out. This could be very, very cute.

Morning Qbee, I would be willing to switch groups if it helps! Just let me know and let the leader of the other group know so we can connect. If I don't hear from you about this I will continue with this group. I am enjoying meeting new people. If you do switch me I will be checking on this groups progress and just want to say....HAVE FUN ladies!
