I am so bumming here. I really thought the idea was to do our first row and send it on and let everyone do their own thing going forward.

How did I miss this (sniffle, sob)? I am usually so on top of things.

Guess it might be best if I drop out cos' there is just no way for me to come up with a plan for two rows.

I'm sorry.

Oh NO!!!! I was just thinking ahead for everyone. By all means, that is why I asked if this thought was good and Anna wanted a direction. You better not drop out. I only had an idea to make it easy if that is what people wanted to do. Please don't get it wrong. I was just thinking ahead and seeing if it was ok with all of you on my thought. Yes, we are all to come up with the row ourselves. That is correct. Sorry if I confused you or made it seem overwhelming. That is the purpose is for the person to come up with the row and then pass it on. I am copying your idea of the sewing machine concept. I was trying to make it easier. If you have any ideas other than what I thought, by all means change it up. It is for all our creativity. Oh so sorry that I confused you. I just had an idea and was running with it. My first thought was to do a whole tundra but liked the idea of stars so I drew something up at a possible look.

OH boy, I'm in big trouble because I certainly didn't think mine rows all the way through. And I won't have time over the next two days to do anything more either. I thought we were supposed to do our row and send it on and let folks add what they like. :-(

Oh boy. Sigh.

No I thought the same as you, a general theme and colors and people add to it. I do not mind making a row the way QM wants though.

Oh, phew! You guys had me running scared. I am volunteering all week at the local VA hospital with the Christmas Gift Shop program and then our nights are booked with meetings. Tonight is our only free night this week - we had company until just a bit ago and I had to join my sections together for my second RxR. There literally would have been no time for me to work on planning anything out and get the rows in the mail.

Thank you, thank you, thank you. Did I say 'thank you"? You both just made my day :-)

best,
d

So glad on the feedback. The owner can make suggestions and ideas of what they would prefer, but I believe it's still up to the sewer to do what they want. Looking forward to this, I do like some suggestions, but definitely not directions! lol If there were some applique patterns available in case we want to use them, I think that's a great idea as an option for the sewer. I am adding matching fabric swatches in case the sewer wants to incorporate, but definitely not mandatory, it's just a help I am trying to provide. I like variety, so no problems.

Well said ladies. I must have been off on my communication yesterday. When I went to quilting was having the same issue with trying to convey thoughts. Sometimes it is just better to keep my mouth shut because what I think does not come out like it should and I mix it up. I came down with a cold that my daughter has also. She is coughing up mucus and blood so will have to take her in. She is such the trooper, she is going to school taking finals this week with this cold. Sometimes it is easier to take the test when feeling horrible than to wait and have to pressure yourself to make it up. Poor thing.
I did manage to get a couple of blocks cut up last night though. Took me longer to pick thru my safari/animal prints than it did to cut it up. Trying to incorporate a few moe colors than browns and tans, putting in a little green and orange/red/rust colors along with gold tones. Think that will help open it up and work.

Well, back to work so I can play at lunch. I am teaching tonight as well so I have to get the thread bag pieces cut and ready to assemble so I have a demo to show them with. I used the pieces I had in my safari/animal prints collection to use for the demo since they were out and available. The leftovers were in the strip sizes I needed. How serendiptious. Will be a :"wild" sewing bag. LOL

It is OK Beth. We'll do what we want to do any ways, within parameters, and will make something pretty for you. I always took it as suggestions. I would love for you to include the patterns and thread. I am not sure if I will use it all but else some one else might. I find it hard to find realistic looking animals so that would be a great help. The new added colors sound nice! I am pretty sure I'll have some fun fabrics to add. Can't wait to get my hands on it.

You are not at all hard to please.I really appreciate all the effort you put in towards making this swap a success for all of us. I hope you and your DD feel better soon. Tell her best wishes when she taks he tests. No fun to be sick during finals. Let us know what the doctor says. Coughing up blood doesn't sound good.
