Default nine patch design

This is a top I finished last spring before I was hit with shingles (Please GET YOUR NEW SHOTS). It was on the cover of a quilting magazine. I loved the way it looks like curves

Beautiful quilt, mim!

Here are a few blocks I have started on. I have so many small odd shaped scraps that I am cutting into 2.5" squares for these blocks... This may take awhile! But it couldn't be a funner way to use them up.

Pretty quilt, Mim! Several of us used that very same pattern with our blocks from the last 9p swap! We had two red ones, and a blue. I love that pattern. And sorry to hear about the shingles.

NZ, great start on some very pretty blocks! Thank you for the pictures, ladies.

I made my blocks several weeks ago, but it looks like I'll have to sit this one out after all. Hubby's work hours are being significantly cut, which means that "play money" will be pretty much non-existent for awhile. If things change before the sign-up deadline, I'll definitely join if I can, but for the moment, I'm having to cut way back on my swaps.

Oh, that's sad... especially since you've already made your blocks. That darn postage is expensive! Maybe you can sew along with us, Moon, and show us what you are making... even if you don't end up swapping.

Hope things pick up for you and your husband. <3

Another thread today mentions a Jacks Chain quilt -- I wasn't familiar with it so I went to google. It uses 9 patches and a triangle to make circles. It is the perfect block for this swap to use.

I agree with Mim - Jack’s chain would be perfect for our swap - lots of decisions to make. Has anyone ever made this pattern?

Oh.....don't do it, Chris....don't do it.....you're busy......but oh I want to!

Okay. Count me in. The devil made me do it. Okay, that and the thought of doing a Jack's Chain (bucket list pattern for me!)

Besides, I have "worked" with sewbiz before and she's fun

Do I have to say how many packages/baggies I'll be swapping, or can I just keep sewing until I run out of time?

Welcome, Red! No, you don't have to say how many you will be sending. Just send as many sets as you want to swap (or have time for)!

I love Jack's Chain too! But those of you looking at that pattern might want to be aware that it uses 1.5" squares for the 9Ps, rather than 2.5" like we will be making. Those are 3" finished 9Ps and ours are 6" finished. You can adapt to the bigger size 9P, but you'll have to draw up your own center hexagon template, and you will have less "rings" in your quilt, because everything is bigger. If that's ok with you, go for it! I might too... Either that or an Irish Chain.
