Still on vacation but did the top before I left. Home on the 10th so after unpacking, laundry, etc. I will bat, back, and bind and get it sent, hopefully by the end of next week.

I have my Doll Quilt finished for my partner, Quilting Turtle but she has to wait until next Monday before I can ship it. I entered into our county fair this week! I hope it gets a ribbon so I can send it with the quilt!

Righty ho, ladies, the race is on. Posted the little quilt today. Will Grammy6's quilt from me be the first one to cross the Atlantic?

No, I'm not competitive.

I have to say, this swap has been the most interesting for me yet. I think due to something someone wrote here. Gotta scroll through the posts to find it, but in essence it was that what you quilt today is who you are today.

I think most of you know that I am notoriously undisciplined as a general rule. But this past week, I've been try very hard to get my life and house in order. In fact, in the few areas I've conquered, I've been downright meticulous.

Well that's the case for this first doll quilt. It actually follows a pattern! While it's not perfect, I did trim all the squares to size and putting it together, I noticed some of the seams were a little off kilter, so I actually used a seam ripper several times! When I put them back together, I used pins!

Now I know that all this sounds like the norm, but for me, it is not. And I find the entire process to be fascinating.

Back to work.

Not to worry Linda. The meticulous one is for my first partner. Lord only knows what you're going to get!

Oh thanks Krystyna! I'm glad something I said (it was in the August thread) was inspiring to you. The advice to AmyBaby was:
"Never second guess yourself--what you make in the moment is who you are at that moment. Yes it's okay to step out of your sewing box, but at the same time I think it's important to remain true to your quilting self. But then I have had several years (ha ha) to develop my quilting self! Your next quilt will be who you are at that time."

It's kind of funny to me because I'm taking my own advice as I plan some mini's for AAQI.

Thanks for the smiles ladies. Your banter made me feel better about the "extreme opposites" I seem to jump to from project to project:
Warm and homey browns & golds in a traditional pattern to Sassy citrus colors in a scrappy (only second try at scrappy) quilt and DQ's in the middle.

Just have to send a Belated Happy Birthday greeting to my swap partner Donna (Lv2sew2011). Her birthday was yesterday. Hope you enjoyed YOUR day, Donna. Many blessings.

Thank YOU! For me, at the very least, these are words of quilting wisdom!
