October 2013 Pincushion & Needlecase Swap (Full and Closed)
This will be is a Partnered Swap of your choice: pin cushion, needle case, or both. You may sign up for either 1 or 2 spots. Can be either a pc and a nc; or 2 pc; or 2 nc. Two spots will make it easy on me this time, gals! It’s my first time hosting a swap, but some of you may know me from the mystery quilts. I look forward to being your host in this swap.

All skill levels welcomed!
You will receive a pc or nc from the person to whom you will send the pc or nc. This will be a secret between the two of you until you post pictures. But if you are asked to post for your partner, don’t post a picture for your partner until you are notified it has been received – let’s not spoil the surprise! Please feel free to PM each other to discuss likes and dislikes that are not covered on the forms you will be receiving.
THEME:
This month, I will leave the swap up to you and your partner. Specify on your form if you want to do a theme or not. I also would like feedback by PM if you prefer a theme or not for future swaps.
CONSTRUCTION:
1.The cushion/case does NOT have to be quilted or hand embroidered, although it can be. But it must be handmade - not purchased.
2. Both must be made of 100% cotton fabric or of wool felt. Needle case should have wool or felt insert.
3. Embellishments/applique/embroidery are welcome but not required.
4. The size and shape of the pincushion/needle case is up to the individual creating it, but should not be smaller than 3” x 3”.
SIGN UP:
Sign up begins today and ends on October 4, 2013 at noon PST. This date is a firm closing time. Partners will be assigned by PM beginning the morning of Oct 7th and should be completed Oct. 8th by end of the day.
Please respond to this thread with a post if you are joining the swap. Then, copy the information sheet, fill it in, and PM it to me. Don't forget to tell me how many spots you want, one or two, and what you want to swap. I will acknowledge receipt of your PM.
DUE DATE:
The deadline for all pincushions/needle cases to be mailed to your partner(s) is Friday, Oct. 25 , 2013. International swappers mail date is Friday, Oct. 18, 2013. Nothing is a given in this life, and, if for some reason you will not be able to fulfill your obligation, please PM me no later than October 15, 2013 so that I can locate a swap angel.
And speaking of swap angels, let me know if you would be willing to be an angel if needed. Thank you.

PM me when you receive so I can mark off my spread sheet. Remember to thank your partner, either by a post or a PM for a personal thank you. I would also like to see that you report a feedback score to your SP. Pictures are encouraged, but not required. We all love seeing what everyone is receiving. If you are unable to post a picture, please make sure that you mark that on your information sheet so that your partner can take a picture before shipping it. Please understand that this board has members with differing skill levels and you will not necessarily be swapping with someone at the same level. Let's love the creation we are sent. I am required to tell participants to send me a monthly PM to verify that they are still active in this swap and are working on their promised project. I am required to insist that all participants send me verification of shipment, to include tracking information. Participants are required to ensure packages will not arrive “postage due.” Any and all other fees, such as import duties, taxes, etc imposed by the recipient’s government are the sole responsibility of the recipient. Absent legitimate and reported mitigating circumstances, participants who have not fulfilled their obligation to ship by above due dates shall be deemed “late” and risk receiving Negative [Swap] Feedback. Please keep in touch with me as required as well as your partners. Please let me know right away if something happens that will interfere with your ability to complete your project on time. Hey, Judy, I'm glad that someone finally decided to host this swap!!! Lynnie will surely be excited!! I can't join in on the fun this go round, because I'm in the middle of moving. o.k., i'm in for one pc. i'd be in for more, but ended up doing a side swap, to my two side swappers, please post here. I've got soooo much to mail this month, i'm not doing a needlecase. maybe next month.
oh dear hostess, tell us please, will we be having a swap for next month. I got my turkey day thinking cap on, just came up with a great idea. now I just have to execute it,(not the turkey silly!) THE IDEA. so if we are, i'll start now.

Ah, lynnie, you are too funny. Never been in a swap with someone who thinks so far ahead! Gotta love ya. But if you do end up executing the turkey, take a vidoe - we'd all like a good laugh. (But maybe I shouldn't encourage you....)
Where is everyone? Hope they start straggling in to sign up.
Yes, I am your hostess unless I get fired by you guys. LOL The ok to do this came up on Friday so we have a shorter period for shipping. I think the November swap will be posted on 10/25 and closed on 10/31

Judy, I will send a PM to you today; I'm in for two pin cushions. Mine fell apart and I just ditched it! I have a camera, but can't seem to get pictures from the camera to the computer. maybe I need to enlist a teenager to help.

I don't understand the question. Do you mean "wool vs cotton" or "quilted pillow vs needle felted zombie head"? I'm sorry if I sound dense, but it's been a long work week already and I've not done a PC swap before.
