I have had the cold/flu for a third time now. Definitely tired of that.
My embroidery machine is having its issues again so not getting to making my blocks yet.
Love the quilt Judith, that is really nice. I have a few of those blocks as well. Makes me want to take them out and see how many more I need to get it finished. That way I can swap just the amount needed to finish.

It is still cold, but at least the sun is shining today.

That is right! We are looking forward to seeing all of the great blocks you will trade with us lovngrandma! Join in the fun!

I am sorry you are still sick Quiltermomma. I am almost over it. What a horrible cold it has been. As soon as the sun goes down you are really symptomatic. Fever, cough and no energy to fight it.

We have had your weather the next day. Rain, snow ... Rain snow. Tomorrow it is supposed to really slam us with a snow storm. I guess I am sewing and staying in, for sure!

Thank you everyone for helping out and sharing the info. I have been having some computer issues. But, hopefully, I've finally worked out all the bugs.

I sure hope everyone is feeling better. But, I realize, that all of you are probably in cooler temps and snow then I am. Like Cuppy, I live in the South and have been enjoying the winter temps this year. We've been having lovely weather. (Barring today, There have been tornados and heavy winds North of me.) The only thing it affected was a few degree drop in temperature. I am so thankful for that. You all know, small favors......

There's still plenty of time to make some blocks and get them mailed off. I sure hope if your thinking of joining in, just take a leap of faith and have some fun!

Trying to catch up with myself, outside cold & head cold. Rather be quilting but don't want to contaminate my work!
hugs,
dj

Default Everything was fine until

using new extra-sharp snips while clipping threads - blades created small 'v' cut in 4th block
!!! I'm a new quilter & that means it's ruined doesn't it... I have to replace the top b.g.panel of the 4th block ... curses! I was thisclose to finishing.

So far I've glued a small patch to the wrong side (supposedly permanent glue) then weighted it for 24 hrs, to let it sit & dry. Fine - except it really isn't. No use in becoming unglued...pun intended.

These will be 12.5 inch blocks. I'm adding a pale blue border around each block, and the picnic table 'seat' ribbon will be added to each. And darn it, redo 1/2 a block.
The 4th block is the upper right. Then a closeup of the cut.
My next blocks will be sooo simple.

Hi K-Roll I love your blocks! I am so sorry that one got ruined. I think I have done this more than once myself and had to ditch it and start over. I have learned to just put my blade sideways (same as the fabric) and pull on the thread. The thread cuts and no chance of it cutting into the fabric.

Can you applique something onto that block to hide it and stablize? A bird, piece of fruit, flower or something?
