Are there any rules about the background fabric? Does it have to be white, or can we use a color or print if appropriate?

I got a darling pattern online. I'd prefer a lightly patterned background rather than plain white.

You can have the background match your Sue. No specifics just have fun. White, cream, red, tone on tone - do whatever your block calls for.

I have some transfers that you can color, would that be ok? Just checking cause some do not like them. My daughter made one that she took best of show in Wyoming with.

Great, count me in for at least one set of 6. Will see if I have time for more. These would be great for quilts for my nieces.

I personally would go with the back to add the traditional look to them. Also do a blanket stitch. Especially considering your fabric choice. They are so adorable.

They are terrific, can't believe we have some almost finished this early. I just started back to work and now have very little time, please be patient with me because I have 4 other swaps to do also.
