I got a darling pattern online. I'd prefer a lightly patterned background rather than plain white.

You can have the background match your Sue. No specifics just have fun. White, cream, red, tone on tone - do whatever your block calls for.

I have some transfers that you can color, would that be ok? Just checking cause some do not like them. My daughter made one that she took best of show in Wyoming with.

Oh my goodness dotcomdtcm - those are gorgeous! I'm not sure either.. I know anything you stitch them with will be gorgeous.

I personally would go with the back to add the traditional look to them. Also do a blanket stitch. Especially considering your fabric choice. They are so adorable.
