Oh I think y'all might be a bad influence. I went to a local quilt show today, and I looked all over for various fat quarters that would be suitable for an I-Spy swap. I am in.

Just curious, for an average, just an average, how many charms does everyone get approximately out of a fat quarter? I'm hoping one fat quarter per set is enough.

But....whew.....here we go! LOL

You should get 12 - 5" squares from a fat quarter. That will leave you 2 for yourself.

Here was part of Trevor's gifts - pillowcases. He was more excited about his trucks, though!

Those pillow cases look so fun! I love the "burrito method", but end up spending a ton of time pressing them if I'm going to give them away, lol. I love a gifted quilt to look crinkly and cozy, but pillow cases to look nice and crisp.

The FQ will depend on if the image has to be fussy cut. When it does, I can usually get 7 or 8 out of one, but it really depends on the pattern of the fabric.

I'll be going through my squares this week, getting them all sorted and making sure I have enough (I might be one fabric shy...) I have a super cute one I just love, waiting to see if it needs to be cut for this round.

This year I'm in my "use them" instead of "buy them" stage with fabrics, now that I have a nice stash, but I will still be participating in the I-spy swaps, and looking for deals on the novelties as I can find them.

One question: why unwashed? I'd rather know that I am not sending or receiving bleeders.

And unwashed precuts are hard to wash.

Gannierosie - hope you find enough fabrics to join us!

zozee - I took over hosting this swap from another board member probably in 2016. It had traditionally been an unwashed swap and I continued in that vein so that people who had swapped in the past could co-mingle new squares in with older squares. I wash all new fabric and completed tops/quilts withh color catchers and have never had an issue with squares damaging other fabrics or quilts. Hope you decide to join in.

New list info:

Stafar - 2 sets - received
Sleepy Hollow – 4 sets
SewHappyInSF – 1 set
Mmonohon - 2 sets
Jannie – 2 sets - received
Bkay – 2 sets
Moonrise – 2 sets – received
Redstilletos - 2 sets

Sleepy Hollow - thanks for helping me out with explanations. And yes, there was a LOT of pressing in all of those pillowcases.

Sorry all I have been a little slow in responding lately - I do try to check in most days. However....I have been sick for a bit and finally went to the dr and spent most of today in imaging, and I have pneumonia again. In spite of having had both vaccines, I continue to get pneumonia at the drop of a hat. I had assumed it was bronchitis and had put off going to the dr until birthday party etc. but finally broke down and went. Dr tells me that pneumonia can develop anytime in susceptible people and I am one of those. Some of my earliest memories are of standing in front of the space heater and mom warming up her hand and rubbing Vicks on my chest. I missed 2 weeks of school pretty much every year with bronchitis and missed more days my senior year than I attended due to illness. So I have a long history of chest issues.

Thanks for your patience with me!
