I found an architect's drafting table at a thrift store several years ago and use it. I love the fact that it tilts slightly, and that I was able to adjust it to just the right height for me. I recommend it!

I use the breakfast room table from our old house which was too big for the breakfast room in our new house. I put bed risers under it about 20 years ago. It has 2 leaves so is really long for cutting large pieces. You could probably pick up a dining table at a garage sale for next to nothing a use it. It doesn't have to be pretty. All it has to do is hold your cutting mat.

I'm planning on using my large dining room table as an auxiliary work station in my new studio. I have one that when the leaves are all out and the ends folded down, it's only about 3x4 feet. With the extensions, it's about 12' long.

I really prefer the lower height of a regular table and the extra length for cutting out clothing, as I prefer to use scissors for that. I have a cardboard mat I can put on the top for protection.

I bought separate office table tops and adjustable legs in Ikea. I have one at standing height for cutting and the second one lower for sewing.
Much cheaper than the trendy one that everyone is looking at these days. Not sure if they still do them.

My cutting table is one of the Lifetime (white resin top) tables. This particular one is height adjustable and a little harder to find, but they are out there. I am only 5’-2” so the table height at the lowest setting is just fine for me, but i have taller friends who have gotten the table and adjusted it higher and love it. Its a very stable and sturdy table. The second photo shows the adjustment option on the table (there are pins that are pushed in and locked at each increment higher and lower on both sides of the table). It isnt an expensive option, but sure works great for me and doesnt take up a huge amount of space.

I used a converted changing table for years. Loved the drawers and cabinet below for storing cutting supplies & rulers. It's now my ironing station.

Then I switched to a kitchen island. It was a bit bigger, and also had storage. And it was portable. It had locking wheels.

Then, hubby bought me a Martelli cutting table.

But my favorite spot to actually do the cutting, is the dining table. It's pub height, It's round, I can walk all the way around it, it fits my largest cutting mat (24 x 36), and the lighting is fantastic in the dining room. It's my version of a spinning mat.

I have one of the 6 foot folding tables (Hard Plastic) from Menards and it was too low, so I went down to the local plumbing
store and had them cut me some pvc pipe. Measured about where I wanted it to be and I think I had 6 inch pieces
cut. They cut them all so they were the same length and straight edges and I came home put them on the legs and presto my cutting table is now up where I wanted it to be. An inexpensive solution to my problem, as they cut the pieces from some scrap pieces they had.

This is my new cutting table set up. I previously had a small dining table that was 30" tall that I was cutting on, it worked, but I wanted something with storage shelves under it. This shelving unit is 36" tall, and the shelving makes great storage. I am not able to copy and paste URL's on my tablet, the shelving unit I bought on Amazon, it is a Whitmor Supreme 3 tier shelving unit, shipped for free to my door. The shelves are adjustable, which was important to me. It was easy to assemble and is durable. The top, I had, but both Home Depot and Lowes have precut wood and shelving units in various sizes. They also cut wood to size for customers. The 36" height is great to cut on and my 18x24" mat fits great.


Also, Amazon sells locking wheels for these units separately if you wanted a mobile cutting station.

I'm admiring the table risers under your table legs. Might I ask....where did you find them? And, how tall are they? So cute!
