Yes, that counts! You should feel really good about getting that done.

I have also started going thru my stuff, I have a lot of fabric that I bought when I first started quilting about 16 years ago. Defintenly no longer my preferred style so I have a bin that it goes into for backing for my project Linus quilts. Feels good to use up stuff and so far this year I have made 10 Linus quilts from my stash and scrapes. My next project is to go thru all the gadgets that I had to have and now find I have no idea why I thought I would use them. I have my favorites so will be finding a new home for the extras.

I sew on kids quilts 4-5 hours a day and don't even want to spend time putting colors together. I have heavy duty wire shelves in a large double door closet. When I decide what colors I want to use, I just go through the fabrics and pick them out.No way in this life am will I ever be able to use all my fabrics. My Daughter and Granddaughter know it will be up to them to dispose of my fabrics. I have used up many yards of fabrics in the last seven years. Just not enough. My Daughter also makes quilts. She has a very large stash.

I know it feels so good to see empty boxes and know where things are.

Good for you! I really need to start a box of fabrics that I no longer love. It will clear out space for the fabrics I do love.

Somebody will be very happy to have the fabrics and supplies that you no longer want. I go through my stuff often. I like to shop my stash as much as possible when I make my quilts. Whenever I empty a project bin, I am able to reuse it for one of the projects in my "stack" of projects. Eventually everything is going to fit in my closet. Everything used to fit nicely until I inherited my MIL's stash.

Good Job! That qualifies as cleaning out to me. Extra containers means a job well done.

It feels extra good because the lady at church that I gave them to, does not have a lot of money for fabric. My sister and I have given to her several times, and she appreciates them no matter what the size.
