Default Downsized sewing studio

I moved from a 1300sf house to a 600sf apartment. I sure miss my giant sewing studio. My new sewing 'studio' is the front half of the living room. I had the desk with pegboard before, so that was easy to just copy here. I used to have a table to the left of the sewing machine to hold the quilt while quilting. Now, the 'table' to the left is a credenza that pulls out to a dining table. The cutting/pressing area is two dressers back-to-back on casters. If I need the drawers on the other side, I just slide the unit over. I had to refold all of my fabric on a 5.5" ruler to fit into the tall pantry cabinet. Most of the scraps by color are in the tall dresser. I have a small storage closet that holds tubs of batting, pre-cuts, backings. The stained glass sign was made by my mother back when I was more of a knitter.

Good job with a limited space.

Looks nicely organised! I feel for you! My sewing "corner" is in the living room too. I keep my batting in the basement, my design wall in the baby's room/nursery and my fabric in the linen cupboard! I have three vintage sewing machine cabinets set up in an L shape in the living room and the ironing board. Somehow hubby doesn't complain, lol!

I can't imagine the squeeze of more than half your former space. But you've done a king-size job organizing your stuff and making it work.

It's still a great space. You just had to get a bit more creative with it. It looks like you can still make a lot of fun things in there.

Your "down sized" space is bigger then my "normal" space but I too am very organized and manage very nicely. I call it my "happy place". I love your stained glass sign.
