Default My Design Wall!

We moved back to Canada and into our forever home a few months ago. I have a dedicated sewing studio now, or as my dh calls it my “woman cave”. With the help of dh we made a large design wall yesterday. It was inexpensive to make, 2 large 1/4 inch insulation boards from the hardware store cut into 4 pieces to fit the wall, some batting, pins, duct tape and velcro Command strips to attach to the wall. An unexpected bonus that dh pointed out is that it further insulates the room as it is an outside wall. It’s -39C today! That’s -38F for my American friends.

It appears to be wrinkled in the photo, but that is just the colour of the batting, we steamed all the wrinkles out with a steam wand.

Securing the batting to the edge of the foam boards with pins...

Adding the Command strips to the corners of each foam board... looks a bit messy, but it won’t be seen.

I love it and it is inspiring me to get my room more organized. Even though it’s in the basement it is bright especially after repainting the room white (it was orange and brown before, yikes).

Your design wall looks great! Nice of your hubby to help with it. I can appreciate the insulation factor, since my design wall area is also in the basement~

It is so nice to see your work on the wall. It makes it so much easier to study your quilt pieces and placement of colors. Love mine.

Very nice. Stay warm, -39 is just far too cold.

A job Well Done!
I can't even comprehend a -38*....... I'm in Arizona where we get snow that lasts a couple of days........I hate to think of your heating bill, like you wouldn't want my a/c bill in the summer. lol

Love you design wall and the quilt you are making....let us see the finished project, please.
ps: thanks for the pictures of how you made the design wall...just may have to make one in my "studio" when it warms up enough in my basement to work down there! LOL
