Default Library card catalog uses

I recently found and purchased this lovely old library card catalog set of drawers. I will need to put a wood insert into the bottom of each drawer as there is an open slot with a rod in them. I'll put small tools, fat quarters, thread, notions and such in the drawers to be placed in my new sewing room. Does anyone have other ideas on how to use it? How would you position it? It doesn't have legs or a stand. I just love it!

I love it too! I would use it for the same things. How deep is it? If I had it I might make space for it on my cutting table. I'll look forward to seeing how you use it!

What great memories that brings back. I remember going to the library and using the card catalog. I'd use it exactly as you intend to use it. What a great find!

I miss the card catalog, just showing my age I guess. What a great addition to your sewing room.

I would love to have it to store my fat quarters in!

Love this card catalog. I would use one maybe two drawers just for that.
magazine ,(patterns) year title book. speed up the process of looking through each magazine or book.
the rest will make great scissor nooks sewing feet.

Divide up your scraps as you are cutting, reds here, blues there. I love it too.

I love it, too. I've often wanted one for this very purpose. And I'd put it on top of a dresser, at a height that's easy to reach and also low enough that I could easily peer into the whole drawer. Maybe keep certain widths of strings in a few, in addition to the ideas you have in mind.
