I asked this great source a lot of questions and promised I would post pictures and descriptions when ready. I just built a new house and moved into it last October. I converted a guest bedroom into my sewing room. It has three windows--two west and one north facing. I put in lots of outlets--one in the floor in the middle of the room for my ironing station, several half way up the walls, and then the lower ones all around the room. I have a TV mounted on the wall close to the ceiling in a corner. I also have a ceiling fan which I am using constantly with out heat wave now. LED lights, and a lot of them. I chose a very low pile carpeting and have a chair mat in front of my machine for my chair on wheels. My cabinet maker made me a sewing machine area unit that they configured so that my machine would drop down in a recessed area to be flush with the top of the table and also a way I could set it up in the same area so that I could attach my embroidery unit. It has drawers on one side of the chair and a taller door on the other side to store embroider hoops, mats, etc. I had 6 plastic drawer units that I store fabric in that I had a carpenter build an ironing station for it and then I covered it in cotton batting and the silver ironing fabric. It has some storage drawers on both sides and a flat surface under the top to store mats and other things. I put aluminum foil under the batting so moisture won't weep through to the wood and then covered it with the silver ironing fabric. It is on wheels. My cutting table is also on wheels and each side can fold down to save space if needed. It also has some storage drawers on each side. We made my design wall (which I never thought I would love so much) out of 2, 4 x 8 foot 1.5 inch insulation boards. I sprayed adhesive on the front of the boards and covered them with quilt batting. These are hung with the Command velcro strips so I can pull them off of the wall if I ever want to (but won't). My closet holds a lot of projects and other stuff and my old library card catalog cabinet holds little things in each drawer. Books and decorative things are in the antique pie cupboard with larger quilting things that I don't use that often are in the bottom of it. The room is not a super large room and like I said, is really designed as a bedroom, but I intended to use it as my sewing room and absolutely love it! I put a lot of time, thought, and looking around before I finalized my plans. Thanks to all here who contributed to my plan!

Congratulations on your wonderful sewing room. I use the same plastic cases with handles and use baskets too. I even have the same one you have (the one with the handle). Beautifully decorated with everything sewing themed. It is definitely a happy, inspiring room! Good job!
