What is the design board made of? I have a place for one, but don't know what materials to use to make one. Any suggestions?

Do a search on design walls, there has been tons of discussions on this topic. I bought all the needed materials but still haven't decided where I want to put it so for now its portable. I really am leaning toward a roll up shade and just applying a thin piece of flannel to it, that way it up & out of the way when not in use.

I went to Home Depot and bought a 4'x8' piece of insulation board..came home and covered it with a flannel..hung it up..I got 1/2" thick..you can get it in different thickness..still have to hang my 2'x8' piece below it..so it will be 6'x8' when I stick that up there..cost less than 10.00 to make it !!

I have the same problem - I organized my fabric in a wall to wall closet - in the room I took over for my sewing room - made the mistake of not closing the closet doors - DH is now asking where all the fabric came from - Don't think he believed my answer - THE FABRIC FAIRY (I was very proud of that come back

I just finished getting organized and the hardest part was starting a project because it was so clean. It didn't take long to ignor the clean room and get on the ball. I am trying real hard to put things back in order as I go. Will see how long that last. HA HA

Love what you did! The arrangement of your room reminds me some of mine, only your's is larger. It really does motivate you to 'get with it' making those sewing projects when you spruce up your sewing room!
