I have a couple of the clear plastic bobbin boxes, plus I took a piece of wood that was made for a base to set a trinket on. I drilled holes in the wood, and inserted wood dowels. It was large enough for 12, I like to fill two or three bobbins with the same color thread at one time. I can stack three bobbins on each dowel.

I heard about these bobbin boxes and found them at Amazon. I tried them and absolutely love them. The bobbins do not unravel at all and they fit snuggly in the foam and stay put. I have lots of them and label them according to what kind of thread is in each one. I replaced all of the bobbin boxes for all of my machines with these.

I found, after buy other tubes to put my bobbins to take to my class, something that you can buy and enjoy then Use the tubes after you eat the Mimi M&M you can use the container for about a dozen Bobbins. I use a lot of white or off white for my quilting, so I keep a lot pre wound.

That's what I finally started doing.

I keep thread spools on those hanging, wooden spool racks (Joann's or Fons/Porter). The pegs on the rack are short so I bought some of those long toothpick/skewers that are about 4 inches long at the grocery. When I put the thread spool on the peg, I insert a skewer and then I can add the bobbin(s) to the top of the thread spool, keeping them all together.

Use the product called 'Bobbin Saver" You can see them on Amazon and they are great. Very inexpensive, easy to store, nothing comes unwound, and you can use the different colors for different machines. I have several and would never use anything else.

I use the plastic tubing to keep bobbins from unraveling. I then use children's craft pipe cleaners as big twisty ties and store the bobbin with the thread spool. I use the white pipe cleaners for cotton thread and black for polyester etc.

I use the pony tail holders and place them in those donut shaped holders for my FW and Pfaff bobbins. I attach my Innova bobbins to the cones with pins and the netting.

I some times thread a pipe cleaner thru the center of the spool of thread and then the bobbin, twist the ends together.

My husband designed this storage set for me using a plastic sucker stick & O rings to hold the spool & bobbins on one stick. He also cuts the plastic tubing like Tartan suggests for the bobbins.
