bobbins that still have thread on them?

How do you folks organize your bobbins? Do you keep them with your spools? How do you know after time which bobbin matches which spool?

I do keep them together like if it's silk cotton if it is just regular sewing thread I just put them in a bobbin holder. I said I keep the special one's together I sometimes use a pipe cleaner put it thru the hole in the spool and the bobbin. I also have a small box I put bobbins in I will mark the bobbin using a small piece of paper with the kind of thread and just tape it on the bobbin I also use bobbin holder that fits on top of the spool if the spool is the right size it works.

Put thread and bobbin in small baggie

I use a thread rack. Put the bobbin on first, then put the spool of thread on top of the bobbin. It works great.

Sounds like everyone has their own method. If it's ordinary thread, mine goes in my Bernina bobbin rack. If it's a special thread, I put the spool on my wire thread rack and put the bobbin on a golf tee and push it into the spool. I have several of the golf tees that I hot glued the round magnet to the ball rest. When you have a hand sewing project, they are also handy for sticking in the spool and your sewing needle sticks to the magnet.

I keep my thread in a tackle box of sorts. I put little fuzzy hair scrunchies around the bobbin so they don't unwind, then put the bobbin in the same 'slot' as the thread in the tackle box.

I use something called bobbin buddy's. It's a plastic thing that fits on the spool and the bobbin is inside the plastic.

I, too, use the "bobbin buddies". I think I got them at Keepsake Quilting. The bobbins just snap right into the plastic piece, which fits into the hole in the top of the thread spool. They are really handy.

Great ideas ladies! I am off to google bobbin buddies and in the meantime I am going to use the baggie idea! I am still figuring out how to organize my quilting nook and this should help!

I kee my bobbins with my thread. See my post on my thread storage system:
