Very small and still unfinished but, after a lot of work, it's finally taking shape. And I'm so, sooooo happy :-)

A view from the door (well, to be honest it's actually from the hall... I mean, this is what you see from OUT of the room if you are stuck in the wall like a lizard to get something similar to a panoramic, looking at your right):

The ugly cupboard doesn't contain sewing things... but it has to live somewhere. It's too big to ignore it, so I changed the door handles and hung a nice heart-shaped ornament, pretending it looks a little better...

Oh, I love the design wall... so useful! Definitely, the floor wasn't a good place for arranging the blocks (if you have toddlers, kids or pets, you know what I'm talking about). And did you see my BIG cutting mat? :-)

The beautiful shelves with glass doors where I keep my fabrics, batting and a lot of other little things are from Ikea (BILLY series), as well as the cutting/sewing table (wich is a DIY project based in this excelent idea/tutorial: http://easypatchwork.blogspot.com.es...ing-table.html ). I did some alterations because my lack of space since I needed the same table for cutting, sewing and storage (all in one). So I only used 2 Kallax instead of 3, letting an opened space in one side to fit the chair (and my legs) :-)

I also added wheels.

Notice that I hung the rules in one side of the table, and the ironing board (with the new cover that I sewed) in the other side. No wasted space here! In the drawers and behind the little doors I stored some sewing/quilting notions (scissors, rotary cutter, markers, machine threads, etc). In the open spaces I stored files with patterns, quilting magazines, all kind of papers. And what about these baskets in the bottom of the table?

As you see, I only divide them into whites/colours. After trying another methods before, I discovered that this easy system is what works best (for me). They are out of sight but very controlled and very handy (to store them AND to access to them). No more time spent sorting, cutting, ironing and storing in dozens or hundreds of boxes where I have to search and find them later. I simply toss the scraps in the baskets as I do my cutting and, when one basket is full (or both), it's time to do something with the little pieces; they are not allowed to grow, to breed or to get out of control because... simply, there is no room for more (well, I also keep some jars of selected colourful scraps in the BILLY shelves just for display, and some tiny bits in a cookies can for EPP and applique, but that's all).

Here is my brand-new chair: it was not cheap (in fact, it's the only 'expensive' thing in this room), but it's just PERFECT for me and for my back. I purchased in a clinic furniture shop with the advise of my favorite physiotherapist (dear hubby), and I do love it.

This is Margarita, my 'alter ego' :-)
I builded it following this fun tutorial: http://www.burdastyle.de/anleitungen..._aid_2704.html . I covered the duct tape silhouette with an old t-shirt and added a flower because I still didn't have the time for sewing her a proper dress.

The room is not complete and I still don't have any decorations (other than my pincushions bowl), but it's functional! And finally I can work there (I was so, so in need of sewing again!)
