The Drywall Is Up!
2 Attachment(s)
Howdy y'all :)
The drywall is up in my new sewing room! It's really coming together quickly! The "finisher" will be here on Monday to fill in the cracks and holes, then it will be painted a coral color. Today the men are coming to take the old gutters down, replace the wood they are attached to, then replace the gutters with the downspouts running into a rain barrel. The Pergo flooring I ordered will be here on Monday, but may not be installed for a couple of weeks because the men are also building me a new, bigger chicken coop! Because of the colder weather, they are going to paint the walls of the coop inside the sewing room so the paint will dry, so the floor won't be installed until after that is completed. Anyway, here are a couple of pictures of the drywall. The first picture is directly to the right of the door, and is where the old slide-up garage door is. They had to come in about 6" to cover the rails that the door slid up on. There will be a 10' long kitchen countertop installed in front of it with four cabinets with drawers underneath it. Enjoy! |
You're getting there! Bet you can't wait to move into your studio. Do you have a completion date set?

Donna, your space is going to be great! Can you tell me more about the air/heat unit? My husband wants to do something like that in his garage.
|
Looking Good! Hopefully, you'll be stitching there in no time! Congrats!
|
You're going to have a great space to work!

https://m.lowes.com/pd/Celiera-24-00...eater/50236341 All I have to do is set it to the temperature I want and it stays that temp inside no matter what the weather is like outside. They are a bit pricey, but my contractor was able to get mine, including the installation price, for $2,100. Considering that there is a separate installation kit that has to be bought separately that is also pretty pricey, I think he got me a pretty good deal! Donna |
Looking great!!

I share your excitement...I remodeled last year and know how nice it is to have a designated sewing room. I look forward to seeing more of your updates.

can't wait to see your studio all done and you have your new playroom all set up....don't forget pics!!!
|
So exciting to watch it come together!

You are going to have such a great space to work in.
What colour are you having the walls painted? I love seeing all the different ways people decorate their sewing spaces. |

Looks great so far. I know it will be even greater when finished.
I have oak upper and base cabinets in my sewing room. Counter top is about 90" long. I have an ironing pad on one end and the rest has other things on it. Perfect height for me. |
wow fantastic looking great

Wow, it's all coming along nicely! :)
|
Great progress! Thanks for sharing. It will be fabulous when it's finished.
|
Totally awesome!!! Great space.

I love it when quilters get a "space of their own". It's like your own little oasis, in the middle of chaos.

Donna I can understand the colour choice. I found pale yellow curtains at a thrift shop that perfectly fit the windows in my sewing room. When it came time to put on a fresh coat of paint I went with the same buttery yellow.
I love orange too. |
great space , your going to love it and have so much fun .:D
