I follow the bonnie hunter method of scrap organization but nothing narrower than 2.5". I don't like to work with stuff that is too narrow. I also noticed that we recycle alot of paper at my job so I am going to grab some of the paper that is tossed out and cut it into 3.5" strips and just sew the very odd shape scraps onto them. Eventually I can use the crumb papers to make a quilt.

I don't think that I will ever go to a scrap savers system personally. I have looked through my tubs (sorted by color) so many times and thought about doing a savers system but then realized that it will take just as much space to save pieces and strips as it does to save chunks. And too many times I have had to get into the smaller pieces to find just the right thing for a small area of a quilt that would have otherwise been cut up into strips or some such. No, I'm happy just the way it is. If I decide to do a scrappy, I'll cut the pieces as I go which is what I do now. I hope your new way of saving scraps works well for you though. Best wishes.

I'm still planning to do that. We used to cut a 2½" strip off every piece of fabric that entered the stash but that practice got lost along the way.

Generally the only size I cut into are 2 1/2 inch strips.
