Hi all,
I wanted to share with you my pictures of my some what "organized" quilting room. I read so many helpful hints on this board which I used that I'm finally almost done. After wrapping 500 comic boards plus using foam core for the bolts, I still have fabric to wrap...so ordered 200 more boards...problem is I don't have any more space in my room! I've recently purchased an Innova longarm which should be delivered in a few weeks. I saved and saved for this machine. Sadly if I would have ordered it over three years ago it would ave been cheaper! Here are the pictures...thans for everyone's help! Susanne :) |
Nice looking room just what I would like with the bookshelves. Everything is so neat. I really need to get going on mine. May you have many hours of enjoyable sewing in your room.
Wonderful work!!!! Enjoy your Innova!!!!
All the shelving, TV table and chest of drawers came fom Ikea! More resonably priced than quilting furniture. The shelves are the Billy line. What do you think of my curtains? I made them using M'Fay patterns. All the fabric in bags on the shelves still has to wraped on comic boards. I'm getting there!

Your room is beautiful. Also enjoy your new longarm. Happy sewing!!
What a wonderful space to work in! I love your curtains! You'll enjoy many pleasant hours in that room.

Tooooooo tidy lol
Love this room - I would never leave it |
Wowzer, that's some stash!! And the work on your design wall is stunning. Can you tell me the name of the pattern for both the big quilt and the circular one? Thanks and have fun when the longarm arrives.
Love your room!
Ditto the stunning work in your design wall!
What a beautiful space you have. You can hardly see the walls in my 8x8 room as drawer totes, book shelves and an old tin cupboard pretty well cover them and NOT with fabric---they are in another room, still in totes and boxes. Enjoy your new LA and your great suite. Thanks for sharing.
Cozy and inviting! Great job wrapping all that fabric!
Wow!! Can I come play at your house?
Just LOVE your room. I am in the process of planning my sewing/spare bedroom and would love to know where you got the shelves? They look like they are 8 to 10" wide. Pease share this info with me, Thank you.

Great room and what a stash.
Such a fantastic room. Love your valance. Hope you enjoy your new LA. Wonderful organization.
That's a lot of work, I remember when I did my sewing room and I don't have near as much as you do ... yet. :)
It's so rewarding to go into the room once you do all this -- I know I still walk by room months later and will stop just to admire the view. I LOVE the quilt you've got on the design wall. |
Where will the LA go? In front of the window? Just trying to visualize. I love your room and ALL THAT STASH! WOW!
Hi... The name of the pattern on the design wall is Tonga Rhapsody by Wing and a Prayer Designs. This pattern uses Marti Michell templates. The circle/ Mariner's Compass is from the book Reach for the Stars by Brenda Hennings. It's my first star for a quilt I'm going to make after I finished the Tonga Rapsody quilt...it's paper-pieced.
The book shelves are from Ikea, the "Billy" line. I still have to get the doors so the fabric stays clean. |
Yes...in front of the window. The space is 7ft 4 inches by 12ft 9 inches. I'm getting a 10 ft frame.. 18" Innova...wanted a 22" neck but I'm not sure it will fit.
Looks very efficient and check out that stash!!! Girl - you put me to shame! Enjoy your space!
Love your room and so organized. Enjoy!
So nice! Congrats on finishing your organization. I know you will love it and even more when your new LA arrives and takes it's place of honor in front of the window! What a great finishing touch...Enjoy!
Very nice! I want one just like it.
Nice space...Well organized....
Love your room & yes, the curtains are terrific. Noticed them right away but did not know that you made them until I read the entire post. Enjoy your room & your new LA, I am envious.
So wonderful! Love your fabric organization... You are so smart to do all of this before putting in your long arm. Now you will be able to just quilt away!
Great room!
What a great room, your organization is awesome, I have been working on mine forever, I wish you good quilting with your new long arm in your own room
Cool space - you'll have fun there!

Thank you all for the kind comments on my room. You wouldn't have believed what it looked like two months ago. Imagine plastic tubs, crates, boxes etc all over...brought up from the garage and from under the beds in the house. I had my son, wife and new grandson all living in the house for a while so everything was in disarray. The new family now have their own place and i ave my room back. My two plus month project was finally finished and the long arm is here!

You will LOVE your new Innova! I sold a Gammill and purchased a 22" Innova with LS. I have had her one whole week. Still some new user learning going on..but OHMYGOODNESS! I love this machine! Be sure to join the Innova Yahoo group. Its SO nice to have someone that 'speaks Innova'!
