getting closer to a sewing studio
3 Attachment(s)
the room addition over our garage has been in a WIP during the winter months and I'm happy to say it's getting closer to being done. The flooring was delivered before Easter and I was hoping the floor was going to be installed Friday but the flooring company is backed up. Since we are heading to California today for a two week visit with family and friends, I will just have to wait to see how it looks when I return.
there will be plenty of sunlight and the LED track lights and recessed ceiling lights will be great for wintery days and evenings. There will be doors on the knee wall cubbies once the floor is down. Thank you to many of the suggestions you shared with me in designing the room. Joanne |
i didn't make any suggestions but i sure am jealous lol it's going to be gorgeous when it's finished, loving all those big windows and the view you will have many happy sewing hours in there...............
That is going to be fantastic and I am sooooo jealous. I still sew on dining room table and have to clear everything up to prepare and eat dinner for 6. Enjoy your new room and I think if I ever had such a lovely room, I would live up there!!
funny you should say that Jordan...my husband is afraid he won't see me again once a longarm machine comes and when a dorm size fridge goes in. But at least he'll know where to find me. :p
That view is stunning just from what I can see. A pleasant distraction. Like your own retreat.
Ohhhh, nice!
It's wonderful! I love the windows and wall color - well actually everything.
Wow. You're going to have such a nice space when it's finished. Be sure to show us the pictures then.
That's already a beautiful sewing studio. I love the vaulted ceilings & all the big windows. The color is perfect. Are you going to have a microwave too? Might as well for midnight snacks when you can't sleep & go & sew. :)
Make sure you have you a phone and a small sofa or a day bed so you can rest after sewing when it's late and you are too tired to safely walk down the stairs. I hope you have a 1/2 bath also. You really need all of the necessities. lol Enjoy many hours of sewing in your beautiful new retreat.
You will just love it. I have the whole floor on the upper level of our barn shaped garage and I practically live there. I have my TV, music, computer and all the sewing machines, Long Arm and a little frige. I am missing the restroom so I have to come down now and then and of course to make us our lunch!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Enjoy yours as much as I enjoy mine and you will have a really content life. Be sure to thank your hubby for his work on it as he supports you.
Please excuse this comment, but I think that is snow outside? Formally from Minnesota and Colorado I do understand snow but living in south central Texas, it is a true joy not to have it or rarely. Thanks for sharing your gorgeous sewing area--I know you will just love it.

Oh my, that is going to be such a great space to create in!
What a beautiful room! The view is lovely also. I have a second floor sewing room and love being able to look out over the street and yards from my windows. You're going to love it!
Lucky you, look forward to seeing it finished. Know you will enjoy. Now you need a day bed up there, is there a bathroom? he he he
Wow! It is going to be fantastic! What a view
What a great area to create. Enjoy.
What a fantastic space! All those window give excellent natural light. Be sure to have your sewing machines there, with the windows at your back. (And store your fabric away from them!)
If I had that space and also a small bed or couch and a bathroom, I'd never need to come down. |
What a fun room it will be! Please do share your progress! :)
That is a fantastic space. I would love to have something like that someday.
What fun you are going to have! Lucky you. It's going to be great. BrendaK

Moving in a little at a time...I wish I had an IKEA near me.

love the space and natural light, something to look out and see during sewing time. Enjoy. My basement cave is jealous.
wow, super space
How exciting for you! I agree about IKEA. I'm not sure why there isn't one here in .Maine. That window is so pretty. I'm guessing it was custom?
You could put in a porta potty like used in small campers with a small jug of water & bowl to wash hands in after
What a beautiful place!!!!!!!!!
