Great Storage Cart

1 Attachment(s)
I was at Sam's club on Saturday and saw this cart. I just had to have. It keeps all the bits and pieces in the sewing room organized. The price was 24.98.

That looks really great!! You should be able to store a lot of things.

AZ Cottontail Quilter 07-16-2012 10:33 AM

I have one of those carts and just love it. I am a fairly new quilter so my original Scrapbooking Cart is now a Quilting Cart. The different colored drawers make it so easy to find things, or rearrange to have what you need in the upper drawers. Oh, Cottontail what a fib!!! I have to have them in rainbow order -- LOL!!!!

DonnaC 07-16-2012 11:27 AM

For those of you who have this cart - you don't have any problems with the drawers falling off the drawer supports, do you? I always worry that the cart is going to get wonky and they won't slip in and out properly, or they will keep falling down into each other. Reassure me that's not the case!

taimi 07-16-2012 12:19 PM

I have one of these carts, I did have to tighten the screws up after about a year but that was the only time I had ever had a problem with the drawers getting "sloppy" in their tracks.

AuntieD 07-16-2012 05:25 PM

That is a good price for such a nice cart.

Briarberry 07-16-2012 06:08 PM

I have one of these carts and I have also had to tightened the screws but only after about 4 years of use. I currently have it in my classroom but now I'm thinking I may bring it home and use it for quilting.

My daughter gave me hers and it has the same problem. I have a temporary fix done by my dh of putting tie straps around the middle and pulling tight. It seems to hold the drawers in place but they are not easy to use. Very disappointed.

Pieces2 07-17-2012 06:01 AM

It will add color to your sewing room for sure. LOL

Latrinka 07-17-2012 06:02 AM

I love this!

skjack 07-17-2012 06:14 AM

i have one and the drawers come off the track but like it anyway... don't put anything heavy in the drawers.

mjhaess 07-17-2012 06:36 AM

I bought one of these carts at Sams about a year ago. I loved it so much I went back and bought a second. My sewing room is a lot more organized and everything is portable and able to be moved around to where you sew....Fits good in
a closet for storage....

sguillot 07-17-2012 06:51 AM

I got one of those a while back at Sam's and am very disappointed. It is flimsey, you can't put much in it and one of the drawers won't stay on the slit it goes in and always falls on the drawer below. It is good for small thing but you can't put a lot in the drawers.

Conartist1945 07-17-2012 06:54 AM

I have two and don't like them at all. The drawers slip out of the tracks all the time. I would give you mine if you lived close by.

Lyncat 07-17-2012 06:59 AM

I had one but the drawers came off the tracks and it was very difficult to use. My husband finally put it out on the curb so someone else could be annoyed by it.

rekrug 07-17-2012 07:29 AM

I have one of these and love it!

DonnaC 07-17-2012 07:52 AM

Hmmm.... I guess what you are putting in the drawers determines whether or not it's fabulous or horrid! Very interesting discussion!

I purchased the same thing for all my Embroidery thread, perfect and what a savings at Sam's compared to an office supply or Hancocks'

lsb142 07-17-2012 11:55 AM

I don't expect to put anything heavy in it so I think it will be OK. I love colorful things and this just caught my eye. I just wanted something to put all the bits and pieces that are all over the sewing room.

I have two of those, one in my sewing room at home and one in my store. I just love them for keeping organized!!

I LIKE the fact that the drawers come out. I keep a different demo in each drawer of the one at the store. When a customer comes in, I can pull the drawer out and do the demo, then replace it when I'm done.

I didn't get mine at Sam's, it was Shopko, and it was a little more expensive, so maybe there are different quality ones????

kyquiltlover1942 07-17-2012 02:45 PM

I have one of these, I keep all my embroidery thread in. Use the ice cube trays for bottles, in the drawers. works great.

Hylarie 07-17-2012 03:34 PM

I have one of these too! They are regularly around $70 dollars at Joann's and I found one at Office Depot for $15. Couldn't pass that up. I haven't really had a problem with them falling off the tracks, and they can store quite a bit!

I love this cart. Would you mind telling me the dimensions of it? I ck'd Wal Mart & the one they show is for $50. I'd travel a bit to find what you have if the dimensions are right for me.
Thanks so much..

Pat

You got a great deal there.....JoAnn offers those for almost $50 if I remember correctly......I bought two of them a while back - with 50% coupons of course.......they are great for storage.....love mine.......

Chasing Hawk 07-18-2012 09:26 AM

I have one of those, I keep it by my cutting table.

It's great, I keep different sizes of squares in it.

mighty 07-18-2012 09:45 AM

Awesome!!!!

mamajack3 07-18-2012 08:18 PM

I have one of these that I keep my embroidery thread in. I can roll it up to my machine and have it right there when I need it but can roll it out of the way when not in use. Some of the best money I ever spent. Enjoy!

I have a cart like this and mine had rubber washers on the screws. I took off the washers and that made the drawers stay in line with the slats. The very first drawer is a little tight fitting with the washers out but the other drawers are pretty heavy with all the stuff have in them and they do not fall out of the slats.

I bought this gem several years ago from Sky Mall for 65.00!!! Paid shipping on top of that. a few months later it was at JoAnne's for 1/3 of that price. I keep all of my stamps for scrapbooking in it. I love it. Sits right next to my scrap table and I keep my stamp pads on top. I love organization tools. My friends make fun of me that I organize more than I do anything because I am so addicted to it!!!

lsb142 07-19-2012 11:23 AM

I got a Nancy Notion's catalog yesterday and they have the same cart in there for $79.00.

I'm with you Christine. I can't say that I organize a lot but I love organizing tools. I think I have every kind of plastic container made. At least that's what my husband says.
