I went to the fishing/tackle department of Wal-Mart and found a small little box with divided sections that hold each foot. I have one for each machine.

I have 13 machines, most of them from the 50's, so I tend to group the feet by type of shank they fit, more than the machine they actually came with (or were bought for).
I keep types that fit on the same type of shank together, but beyond that they're usually just jumbled into a box or tin together with their kin. My 6600's box has a little slot for each foot but that's the best-organized set I have. I don't seem to need to have them laid out separately from each other; as long as it's the right fit for the shank on the machine I'm trying to use I don't mind rummaging a little bit to find the exact foot I'm looking for. For me I'd have a harder time storing a large box, so it's worth it to have a compact jumble of feet to save space. It only takes me a few seconds to find what I'm looking for. I don't have THAT many feet of any one type though; short-shank is the one I have the most of but I solve that by just keeping one set out that holds one of every type of foot I have; all the duplicates are put away in the cupboard. |

I label the tackle box as to machine and make sure manuals and any other "tweaking" notes stay in the box. If I have a foot that I have attended a class on or have found a great website/video on, I make sure the notes on where to find that info get stashed in the box with the machine's manual. For my machines that are stubborn about bobbins I add small plastic organizers also inexpensively purchased in sporting goods sections, think dollar store,larger department store. The best organizers I have found are bait buckets with divided sections on the lids. These allow me to carry projects/mending with me easily while keeping machine specific feet and tools readily available. I rarely use those little boxes that come with machines, I dump them on the floor too often!! I do have one notebook like carrier with see through pockets for my Viking embroidery machine. But I love my tackle boxes!

My Bernina 440 has the cool little plastic box with spots to hang the feet. I have had to buy some extra hangers because I love feet, but they work. My older 1031 didn't have anything to hold extra feet so I used a box designed to hold Micromachines (remember those?). Worked great.

I have 2 machines side by side. I keep the most used feet in the little slip out tray that you pull out to do free-arm. The rest are a plastic case in the top drawer of the table the machine is sitting on. If too large of a foot like the free-motion foot, I keep it in its box it came in. Organized, ................not really but it works for me.

I use a tool holder from the hardware department which goes on my pegboard. I think it was intended to hold screw drivers. Each foot fits between two small prongs.
