I have a similar multi-quilt rack ... three levels of rods.
Had it made to fit the space between a window and a corner in my bedroom. This way I get to admire my work first thing in the morning and last thing at night!!! :) The lower rod holds the quilts that I use periodically in my bedroom. The upper ones tend to just hang for show ... though easily removed if/when needed. If you are making one ... it's best to have each lower rod come into the room a little further, to allow for the bulk of the quilts that are hung. |
Love it. Need to save this for hubby to see and make.
Wow. that's a lot of quilts and a lot of weight but a really nice job.
I wonder how heavy the quilts are on this wall. How would this be placed on a wall? I can hear my hubby.
Love the idea. |

I'll have to keep this in mind.

Love the idea. |
Looks great, I think she probably figured out it would need to be hung so the screws would go into the studs. Most people are at least that smart.
I don't have that much wall space. |
that is so nice, drool . lol better get working on more quilts so i have a excuse to get one and it look full too
That is very nice but I sure don't have any blank wall space like that!
Wow. Awesome. Showed dear hubby. Believe it or not he says it is not to difficult to make. I wonder if they used curtain rods to hang on the shelving? A project for his retirement. Thanks for sharing. Piecefully Carol

That looks very similar to what Eleanor Burns has in her design room. There was a photo of it online.
great idea!
If you didn't want to hang one on the wall you could build an oversize ladder and lean in against the wall. Don't know if my cats would stay off it though!
Neat idea! I wonder if we could build another wall to put it on. LOL. Wish I had room for something like this. Maybe some day....
That is really a great idea!
Really a good idea... I would put it where everyone who came in my house could see my quilts!!
Really neat idea! May have to get hubby to make one of these for me!
I just sent this link to my mom (also a quilter) and my dad (who works with wood!)! Love it!
Great idea!!!!!
brilliant!
Looks wonderful in your space! I think my smaller wall would look like it's falling in on me if I put that many quilts up on it for display, though.
Nice idea.
I too saw this post and loved the idea. How awesome to be the person with all those gorgeous quilts, too.
I have keep a old gun rack that was my son's. I bought wooden doll(sp) rods from Lowes' and put wooden curtain rod finals on the endof them. Works fairly well for what I hang. Tinker

I think I saw this posted here on the quilt board in the last couple of weeks. I'm pretty sure the poster said if anyone wanted info on making one they could pm her.
Love it! This is going to the top of my "all I want for Christmas" list for my DH.
