Love make overs. Even though my sewing area is just the way I want it, I still wander into used furniture stores looking at possibilities. Be sure and show us pictures.

I recently got a new sewing machine. I wanted a permanent setup for it that would be ergonomically correct for me. My husband and I batted around a few ideas. I currently have a wall of computer tables for two computers, filing cabinets, etc (it's a built in). I thought I would paint and distress the dark wood to make it look like it fit in more once I get my sewing stuff in there. Last night my husband came up and said he was going to tear out the builtins and put them in the loft so my room would be totally for sewing. He had two cabinets left over that he said I could use. My friend was cleaning out her house and gave me a bunch of decorating stuff. I have paint to paint the room, but first I have to resurface the walls that my husband/son messed up while taking out the cabinets. All of the stuff that was in all the drawers is in bags in different rooms, drawers/cabinets all over the loft and in my son's room and my husband is leaving today on a business trip for three days! I'll post pictures later of the before and after. My DH said this morning, "Stop having ideas!"

I have a White serger I bought from JoAnn's 20 years ago with a coupon, works great after all these years

So exciting, I have come to the conclusion that I just need a larger room for my sewing.

It's funny how one thing can lead to another :)!

We have been talking about moving my two sewing tables out into the family room - I am really being kicked out of the 'radio room' (my husband is active in amateur radio). He wants the whole room to himself so he can set up more stations - he will be lonesome! I used to face the window and the front yard until he bought a HUGE desk and I got bumped to the other side of the room. I went from a straight line set up to an L-shape set up that just isn't working for me. My machine is on the far left instead of the far right and working on anything larger than a block is almost impossible. I would love to be able to turn our family room into my sewing room - longarm on one end and storage/sewing on the other end. I offered to get two recliners and to keep the big screen television so we could still enjoy that part of it ... no go ... go figure!
