Juki DDL-8700. Bobbin?

Anyone know what kind of bobbin I need to
buy for this machine. I can’t get up the steps
into my skid shack to check & my grandson doesn’t
know what I’m talking about

It appears that the Juki number for the bobbin is 229-32909 - for the Juki DDL-8700

According to my research, it appears that they are a "Style L" type bobbin. It is slightly larger diameter and slightly shorter than a class 15 bobbin.

Thanks. I went online n purchased a bunch of prefilled bobbins for it as they were really reasonable n I don’t have any for the machine

You will love the pre-filled bobbins...they last a long time. You cannot wind as much thread as the industrial winder does. And many of the the prefilledhbobbins can be used as spares for winding colors.

I've been using the same ones I used in my Juki 2010. They fit, but I think if I was doing a lot of high speed sewing I'd rather use the industrial type with the holes. They seem to not heat up as much in the machine.

I have the speed on mine set down quite a bit as most of the time I'm doing very short seams. Lately I've been working on a project with a lot of 8-12" seams and have noticed the bobbin case being quite warm when I change threads. I do add a drop of oil with each bobbin change. I'm concerned I don't sew fast enough for the splatter oiler to work correctly for the bobbin area. I'm sewing faster than the Juki2010 sewed, but not all that fast for this machine. I do sew fast for 20-30" each bobbin change to get the oil pump circulating oil to the top of the machine.

I do love this machine - but I use a stand alone bobbin winder as it's a pain to use the one on the machine unless you have two spools of thread and can do it while you are sewing as it's been designed to be used.
