A little piece of my Heaven

My husband and I remodeled our kitchen a while back. The cabinets that were taken out of the kitchen, my husband made me this WONDERFUL sewing table. I love it. I still need to put the drawers in. But this is just perfect for me! As you can see I am already using it for my quilt lol. The second picture is of my quilt frame room and design board. The design board covers that entire wall. Love it! The jar quilt I am working on and will post more about it later when I get it finished. The jar quilt has real significance to me and I will explain what that is later when it is done. I still have more veggies to "jar" lol The other bright quilt I am making is, i guess for my 6 year old, has already claimed it and it isn't finished yet. LOL.

Thanks for looking :o)
Wendy

TinkerQuilts 01-25-2013 06:17 PM

That looks like a very nice room to work in, and lots of nice natural light!

thequilteddove 01-25-2013 06:26 PM

quiltingeileen 01-25-2013 06:30 PM

Nice space. And so tidy :).

Hi neighbor. Nice set up. What a great way to upcycle those cabinets.

ssnare 01-26-2013 04:14 AM

That is very nice. Lucky you. What a great husband.

rexie 01-26-2013 06:56 AM

I love your jar quilt on the wall. Do you have a pattern source you can share?

Jingle 01-26-2013 09:19 AM

Very nice space. I have kitchen cabinets in my sewing room and a long countertop over the base cabinets. Just wish I would have had the backsplash cut off. My large cutting mat would fit a little better.

I really like the U shaped work area around your sewing machine.

sewplease 01-26-2013 11:15 AM

It's lovely! What a great space for sewing and creating. One question - what kind of frame is your Brother on? Laura

gramquilter2 01-26-2013 11:15 AM

Great space and love your jar quilt.

Country1 01-26-2013 04:17 PM

Very nice. I'll claim the jar quilt if no one in the family claims it. LOL Like that would ever happen. The quilts are beautiful. I love the huge design wall. Kuddos to DH on the cabinets, they look great and you will have extra storage. Something we can never have to much of!...

QuiltingNurse 01-26-2013 06:40 PM

I also have a question about the frame with your Brother machine. Can you describe this set up a bit more.
How do you like it? And what's involved with it?
Thanks and lovely quilting area.

rilene 01-26-2013 07:05 PM

Those cabinets look great! I see you`ve been busy "canning" - would love to hear your story!

Laura, my frame is a handiquilter 2. A tabletop kind. Its not the best but it is perfect for my needs now. I hope to upgrade it one day :)

My frame is a handiquilter 2, tabletop kind. the tracks are screwed to the folding table and the arms holding the bars are held down by vicegrips thingys. I like it. It serves my needs, but I want to upgrade one day to a much sturdier frame. The bars to this frame are not very strong and I have to be careful not to roll the quilt too tight or the bars will bow.

awesome space. You have a great design wall also.a nice fun room to create in

baskets4daze 01-27-2013 05:54 AM

Great space! Is that a Handi-quilter frame with a regular sewing machine on it? Do you like it? I have the frame, but have trouble using it. Have about a dozen quilt tops I need to finish. Need to use this until I can afford a long arm.(sigh).

mgmsrk 01-31-2013 04:20 PM

Very pretty, I love the color of the cabinets.

Mariposa 01-31-2013 04:34 PM

Terrific set-up, and great cabinets! One can always use more storage! :)

LoisM 02-02-2013 03:16 PM

How cool is THAT??

mountain deb 02-03-2013 09:42 PM

I love it when I see recycled items. Give him a big HUG.

Nammie to 7 02-16-2013 06:31 PM

Love the jar quilt - I just made a log cabin quilt using fruit and veggie fabric (for my grandson who hates fruit and veggies) Never thought about "canning" them! Nice room

Grandma58 02-16-2013 07:33 PM

That is really nice!

jojosnana 02-19-2013 09:42 PM
