Very nice. After I made one I thought, "How did I live without it."
really stunning please show us more
great looking
Was it the quilt block you made or the design wall? Love the quilt block and want to do one of those some day.
I made both, but I was showing the design wall.
Looks great...
Wonderful !!
Like your design wall and your Hunter's star.
Nice I wish I had some wall space left for one.
Excellent! Design walls.........the more the better.
I do not have any wall space I have a cabinet that has doors so I hang a flannel back tablecloth fabric when I don't need it just fold it up and store
Gorgeous! Can't wait to see the completed quilt! :)
Quilt block is beautiful. Design wall is very nice. I use my table or bed. No wall space left for a design wall.
well done! My working wall and office chair were the two best investments I made in my quilt room. And I've been quilting since 1971. as a child mind you :)
Oh, and having a hole cut in a table so my machines are flush. Far better investments than fabric no one will ever get around to using. |
It's a really great block.
And I was just looking to do the Hunter's Star yesterday... but do tell how you did your wall
Very nice. How did you make your design wall?
I made a design wall out of a 24" by 48" drop in ceiling tile covered with Warm and Natural. I used 3M Command strips but attached the panel side to the WnN batting. Needless to say, the panel didn't stay on the wall. How did you make your design wall? I am still ;( looking for the solution to attach the panel(s) to the wall of painted sheetrock.
Thanks, in advance, for your thoughts! |
I used insulation board cut into 2 x 4 pieces, sprayed with basting spray, covered with batting. I cut squares at the corners to reduce bulk, used duct tape to hold the edges to the back. I then used the yellow head straight pins, I didn't have ant sewing machine needles to use, and attached it to the wall. It's still there too. The ribbon on the end covers the seam in the batting where I pieced it. Thanks for all the comments.

My design wall is a vinyl tablecloth with the flannel backing showing. I hung it up with cup hooks so if i need to take it down i can and easily put it back up. It works beautifully. Yours looks great! And i love your hunters star!
What a great idea!! I have a shelf that holds a curtain. I'm hoping to mount a roll-up type shade in it and replace the shade material with some flannel or a flannel backed tablecloth. I was looking at roll up shades at Home Depot last night.
