Moved The Sewing Room Again...
4 Attachment(s)
Well we sold the farm a year ago and bought this 130 year old farmette, went from 2500 square feet down to 1500 sq. feet. Set up the sewing room in the small bedroom downstairs. Smaller than my old sewing room but functional. Then 2 of our children announced that we were going to be grandparents again, one in April the other in September. I am blessed to be able to care for the grands while their parents work, one night shift the others day shift. Needed to create a baby room downstairs, so we moved the sewing room upstairs. Here it is!

Please tell me it's only this neat because you just moved everything in! I'm feeling so inadequate right now because mine will never look so good. I just love the old ironing board shelf and how organized you are.

Thanks Pam, the "move" definitely helped. I'm a container junkie, it was a good opportunity to clean out and rehome old fabrics and whatnots to my DDIL who just started quilting.
Nicely organised!! Love your old ironing board!! Makes a great display!!!
Thanks Coventry, I think moving sewing rooms around is a lot like buying shoes. You have to use them a bit to see if they feel right!
Really like the room and how things are displayed.
That is so cool and homey. Love it

God bless you for being such a good mom and grandmom. So glad you have a room to call your own. It's really homey and I love your organization, plus the great old ironing board display. That really gives the room a lot of personality. You are so right about sewing rooms being like new shoes. I'll have to remember that. I keep trying on new "shoes" !

Great sewing area I love the vintage ironing board self.
You are going to be one busy grandma!! Very nice sewing room. You have a lot of quaint pieces. Mine is always a work in progress. I organize one drawer at a time -- and then I'm back at the beginning and need to start over!!
Thanks everyone for your kind comments. The ironing board shelf was a gift from my daughter, the jar with wooden spools was a $2.00 find at a yard sale. The chair is for my dear husband who likes to read and visit while I sew. My favorite in this room are the doll quilts that I received in the doll quilt swap on this board. Now able to get to work on a couple of baby quilts! April comes fast.

Tulip, congratulations on the move and the upcoming grandbabies! Wonderful news! I love your new space and especially like that old ironing board on the wall. It looks so cozy and functional. What a great space. Enjoy!

Your room looks fantastic. Very organized.
Grand kids are wonderful. Keeping up with them is not for the old or faint of heart. Luckily, mine are 11 to 26. I did just get a puppy and he is keeping me active, just won't last as long as babies.. |
Very nice room. If it always looks that neat I'm going to get a complex...
You have created a great sewing space for yourself and a kink in my neck, but I loved seeing your sewing space!
Beautiful space and so well organised. Congratulations on the grand children...so good of you to help with the child-minding so they can keep working. They are very, very lucky.
