My Sewing Room

8 Attachment(s)
I retired a year ago and we moved to TN. One of the reasons we bought this house was because of this room. I haven't used it much because of the lack of lighting but we have added lighting and it is much better. I look forward to spending a lot of time in there.

ManiacQuilter2 06-29-2015 07:48 AM

You are MORE organized than I am and I moved almost 2 years ago.

mike'sgirl 06-29-2015 08:36 AM

Very nice. I'm a bit envious. I'm still in my bedroom. Was the counter space up already or did y'all put it up?

Quilterfay 06-29-2015 08:39 AM

Very nice. I thought I had a lot of thread .... No where near as much as you! Lol I should show this to my DH.

rusty quilter 06-29-2015 08:42 AM

Wow! Beautiful work area, and yes, it does take time to "make it your own" when you move to a new place. Congratulations..looks like you will have fun there!

Tartan 06-29-2015 08:43 AM

The counter space was already there. I think this room was used for homeschooling.

All the thread is for my embroidery machine. Most of it was a Christmas present from my daughter.

Great looking room. We are moving to a house where I will finally have my own room. This gives me some ideas.

Nice space.....

Halo 06-30-2015 06:13 PM

What a wonderful room that is. A place to get lost in for sure. I would hang all the wonderful thread on the walls & have many projects lined out on the tables. Can I come play at your house? LOL

Love that your sewing machines are in front of a window. My sewing machine is in front of a window also, but the bedroom also contains 3 big furniture pieces, so it's kind of tight. No room for a nice sewing room.

fayeberry 07-01-2015 06:15 AM

nice room, you are very organized

joyce888 07-01-2015 08:25 AM

Very nice room, and I love that multiple arm lamp.

KLO 07-01-2015 09:30 AM

Great room for you to work in. I too put my sewing machines in front of my window so I could look out over the yard thereby resting my eyes from close work. Is that a Featherweight sitting in a wooden table by the white cabinet? Did you happen to make that desk it (whether a FW or some other black machine) sits in? Nice that it sits level with the desk top.

appleblossom 07-01-2015 09:52 AM

What a lucky, lucky quilter your are. A pretty place to create a teasures, enjoy and start the good times! Thanks for sharing!:)

My sewing room (family room) was very dark too. The windows face north and east but east has a house just beyond it. I took an idea from a decorator I knew. I put mirrors on the walls where the sun landed, so it would bounce light into the darker corners. It even helps at night when I turn the light on. I used the same idea all around my house since modular homes tend to be darker because of smaller windows.

Onetomatoplant 07-02-2015 05:46 AM

Love your room! You might need more thread...:D

MsHeirloom 07-02-2015 08:03 AM

I just love seeing everyone's sewing rooms. You've done a great job with organization. You should be able to find things quickly.

zozee 08-15-2015 05:14 AM

I would have been "sold" on the house, too, just seeing that counter already in a bedroom. Haha, funny how we see space for sewing when other buyers see an oddball room. Love all the color and organization. In case there's ever a thread ration in the country, we will come a'knockin' at your place!
