TexasGurl 07-25-2012 09:04 AM

I just spied the display case you have on the stair wall, with the SB Sue (2nd photo) ... missed seeing it the first time. I bet you made that too ? just beautiful

NeverEnoughQuilts 07-25-2012 09:37 AM

You are correct. That looks like the one in Wood Magazine.
Good job for sure....
I made the arms longer and put a rounded board on the arms to distribute the weight of the quilts a little more.

garysgal 07-25-2012 10:30 AM

are patterns available for both projects?-they are great! You did a wonderful job.

garysgal 07-25-2012 10:47 AM

there is a pattern for the quilt rack in my husband's Wood magazine issue 213 Sept 2012, pg 61
It hangs on the wall, but would work.

AZ Jane 07-25-2012 11:48 AM

Where do I put in my order? LOL!!

Skittl1321 07-25-2012 12:19 PM

Beautiful rack! My husband gets Wood magazine and offered to make me a very similar one, but we don't have anywhere to put it. Yours looks great!

Sienna's GiGi 07-25-2012 12:47 PM

Love both the rack and the ruler center!

Beeboop71 07-25-2012 12:58 PM

Wow - this is such a unique and beautiful quilt rack. I love it! And your quilts are absolutely gorgeous!

KLO 07-25-2012 04:02 PM

Fab-u-lous .... both of the pieces! I am going to show the ruler holder to my local woodman (my dh) as this would make a great Christmas gift. You did a nice job on these. My Dad was a carpenter and would have loved them. Thanks for showing them.

AuntieD 07-25-2012 06:05 PM

Wow! I wish I could make things like that! or knew someone who could.

Pilgrim 07-25-2012 08:36 PM

Do you have pattern or instructions for these, I would really like it if I could get it.
Thanks.

audsgirl 07-25-2012 09:55 PM

That is so cool! You are so talented.

Jingle 07-26-2012 05:02 AM

That is a great idea to use the dead space above the railing, love that ruler rack. You are very talented and creative. Going up is a very good idea. Beautiful quilts also. You have some terriffic ideas. Thanks for showing us.

HelenM 07-26-2012 05:43 AM

Just yesterday I was on "youtube" and saw your video of sewing/quilting room tour. Of course, I recognized the beautiful railing and ruler rack, so I knew it was your video. Your quilts are beautiful, and how nice to have a partner who is also an artisan in carpentry.

fleurdelisquilts.com 07-26-2012 06:07 AM

Love them both. I can't imagine that I could make either one. It appears that the arms on the quilt rack swing out. That's pretty impressive! Great job!

jbj137 07-26-2012 06:54 AM

Good job.

Those are both really neat ideas! Super good job.

cny_sewer39 07-28-2012 08:47 AM

The quilting rack is an excellent use of space. I wish I was wood savvy. Was it hard to make?? Could a beginner make one. I would love to be able to make one for myself. Thanks for sharing.

Have a blessed weekend.

I think it would be a challenge for a beginner, especially if they did not have a drill press, a band saw and a table saw with a tapering jig. Good luck if you decide to make one.

bmanley 07-29-2012 05:51 AM

How wonderful. I love this.

Thanks for letting me know. Unfortunely, I don't have a drill press, a band saw or a table saw with a tapering jig. I guess, I will just have to keep dreaming. Thanks again.

Both are beautiful, the quilt rack and rule rack. Would love to have both. Do you sell them?

NeverEnoughQuilts 08-12-2012 09:15 AM

I don't sell them. My hobby is wood working and I am afraid if I tried to transition to selling I wouldn't enjoy it as much.

JoanneS 08-12-2012 09:43 AM

Beautiful - and the quilts are beautiful, too. It has a Craftsman look. Is your house a Craftsman house?

The house is not a craftsman style, however, most of the items i make are craftsman inspired. Less is more....
